REMBRANDT VAN RIJN The Artist's mother seated, in widow's dress and black gloves, an Etching, circa 1632, (Usticke's third state of three, trimmed on the plate mark Barsch 244), 15cm x 11cm mounted in a plain ebonised glazed frame (purchased from "S wann Auction Galleries, New York, lot no. 24, sale no. 2119, 6/21/2007, hammer price £2,200)
AFTER G F WATTS "Sir Frederick Leighton P.R.A.", a portrait study, head and shoulders, black and white etching, published London November 1st 1880 by The British and Foreign Artitsts Association, image size 42 cm x 30 cm CONDITION REPORTS Some discoloration to the print, some accretions on the glass. Frame has some cracks and small chips and wear to the gilt and the ebonised parts. General wear and tear commensurate with age and use.
AFTER PAUL CESAR HELLEU (1859-1927) "Le Boa", a study of a woman in feather boa and hat, dry point etching, signed within the print lower right, inscribed on "Editions Graphiques" label verso and dated 20th July 1971, image size 31 cm x 19 cm CONDITION REPORTS Some discoloration and fading. Also the velvet on the mountboard is fading and discoloured and there is also some sort of staining to the edges of the mountboard. There are a couple of black spots towards the lower right of the picture that could possibly be foxing spots or mildew. General wear and tear commensurate with age and use. See photos for details.
