Dickens, Charles, A Christmas Carol in prose being a ghost story of Christmas, Bernh. Tauchnitz Jun. Leipzig, 1843, with a single coloured etching of Marley's Ghost,Condition report:Cloth binding, generally good, the corners of the boards slightly bent. Discoloured boards and spine, traces of gilt to title on spine. Internally, no immediate issues, certainly in a presentable state.

Etching w. a few handcol. details, 12 x 10 cm, w. 8-line letterpress verse below, sheet size 30 x 21 cm, ca. 1785. Foxed and w. some folds/ creases. Rare and nice print depicting Kaat Mossel, whose real name was Catharina (Caetje) Mulder (1723-98), known as the "Helleveeg van Rotterdam". She was a fierce Orangist and opponent of the patriots. (2) "'T Oranjegraeuw schiet hier den prinsevlieger op, beplakt met juk en hoed (...)". Etching, 15.7 x 19 cm, w. "Verklaring der bovenstaende prent" in 2 columns below, sheet size 30 x 22.5 cm, (1784). Waterst., fold on lower plate-edge. Iron engr./ etching, 31 x 45 cm, monogrammed in the plate, ca. 1525. Manuscript text of former owner, Adolph Theodor Gerstäcker, verso (d. 1857). Formerly mounted at upper corners and left margin, sm. piece of the upper right corner detached, but attached to the mount, left upper corner w. piece of tape verso, visible recto, left margin w. 2 attached pieces of tape verso and a sm. tear, smoothed-out central vertical fold, occas. foxing. Still a very good impression on fine laid paper w. unidentified watermark and narrow margins. The mount indicates that this is the 2nd state ("1" in lower margin). Hollstein 20 and Bartsch 15 (the state before the "1" added in lower margin).

Fine, large print on occasion of the Glorious Revolution in England, in 1688, during which King James II was deposed and fled to France.

Lettered below the image w. the title and "Cha.s Corbet fecit. / London, Printed for Rob.t Sayer, No. 53 Fleet Street." Print of a young man (perhaps a sailor) w. a pile of gold coins in his hands stands grinning towards the viewer. To the left, a woman stands at a counter, stirring a bowl of punch. Not inspected outside frame. Rare, only 1 copy at the British Museum traced.

A German Third Reich K98 dress bayonet, the 20cm nickel plated single edged fullered blade etched to one side "Fur Erinnerung an meine Dienstseit" (In memory of my service time) and a Stuka within a scrolling border, marked to the ricasso Robert Klaas with double crane mark, having chequered celluloid two piece grips and plated birds head pommel, housed in a black painted steel scabbard with brown leather frog and green/silver portepee, bayonet length 32cm.PLEASE NOTE THAT IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT THE ETCHING TO THE BLADE IS POSSIBLY LATER, SEE TERMS AND CONDITIONS REGARDING IMPERIAL GERMAN / THIRD REICH ITEMS.
A 19th century percussion duelling pistol, having an unmarked 13cm octagonal sighted barrel (lacking ram-rod), the foliate engraved saw handle marked to the top edge Smith, 25.5cm.Very faintly etched ‘Smith’ on top of barrel.Action holds on full and half cock.Slight gap from top of tang to saw grip.Some wear to etching and light pitting to barrel.Overall good condition.
