Georgian Cavalry Officer’s Sword of 1796 Pattern Type, broad curved single edge blade cut with a single fuller, etched with crowned GR cipher, post 1801 royal arms, trophy of arms, and foliage retaining much gilding in the etching, gilt brass stirrup hilt with lion’s head pommel with shell and laurel mane, copper wire bound leather covered grip. Good condition, hilt retains approx. 85% original gilding, some wear and stains to blade. Blade length 30.5”.

Lion head top pommel incorporating the back strap. Securing plate to the reverse of the guard securing the sword to the top scabbard fitting. Blade with crowned anchor and foliage etching. Gieves trade mark to the forte. Blade shows surface staining and some pitting. Housed in its original leather scabbard with brass mounts. Blade 80cms. Sword housed in brown leather carry case, stamped C.H.ROCK R.N.
1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officers Sword, gilt brass strap and knuckle bow with central shield style langet, gilded pommel and fluted back strap. Leather covered grip with copper wire binding. Curved single edged blade with large partial fuller. Remains of the gilt tooled etched decoration to the blade, early Ordnance / Engineers three cannon badge and order of the Thistle is etched along with trophy of arms and the makers details of Thomas Gills. Originally the sword would have been blue and gilt but none of the blueing remains and only outlines of the gilt remains to the etching. Blade measures 82 ½cms in length. No scabbard.

Blade remains in near mint condition with nearly all of the original polish. Housed in its original leather scabbard with brass mounts. Blade 78cms in length. Sword housed in its original leather carry bag. Excellent example.

Lion head top pommel incorporating the back strap. Securing plate to the reverse of the guard securing the sword to the top scabbard fitting, plate engraved with original owners name “M MISKIN RN”. Original officers dress knot attached. Blade with crowned anchor and foliage etching to one side and George VI crowned monogram to the other. Gieves trade mark to the forte. Blade shows some wear and has some areas of surface staining etc. Housed in its original leather scabbard with brass mounts, leather has shrunk making the mounts loose. Blade 79cms in length. Sword housed in its original leather carry bag.

Lion head top pommel incorporating the back strap. Near mint condition blade with crowned cipher and foliage etching. Wilkinson Sword trade mark to the forte and spine numbered 109980. Housed in its original leather scabbard with brass mounts. Blade 79cms.

French Silver Mounted Hunting Hanger, late 18th century, single edge blade etched with animals and Deveaux, fourbisseur a l’ecole Royale –aire –ace –Trois –ies -Dieu, -ien a Paris (etching worn and partially indistinct), one piece ebony grip with silver crosspiece and oval silver panels (backstrap incomplete), in its tinned metal scabbard with silver mounts struck with tiny hallmarks, silver hanging rings. Blade 37cms, overall 52cms in scabbard. Quite good condition, worn overall.
