Victorian 8th (Scottish) VB King’s Liverpool Regiment Officer’s Broadsword.A rare example, the broadsword is of the regulation pattern, the straight blade with double fuller, this with etched decoration including the title “8TH SCOTTISH V.B. THE KING’S LIVERPOOL RGT”. Fitted with basket guard, retaining scarlet and buff lining and crimson tassel. Housed in steel scabbard of the correct Highland pattern. The scabbard is part covered with polished brown leather. Overall GC etching now faint staining to the blade.
9th Lancers Georgian officer’s Mameluke SwordA rare example of the Mameluke levée sword, with broad flat curved blade etched both sides with crown, crossed guidons (bearing IX), larger figures IX and “LANCERS”, gilt crosspiece with raised edges and decoration, and fine ivorine scales with floral studs. Nicks to edge of blade, etching and gilt rubbed, scabbard absent.
Victorian 1st VB King’s Liverpool Regiment Officer’s Levee Rifle Pattern Sword.A rare example of the pattern. The single edged narrow blade is etched with a Crowned VR cypher, regimental title “1st Vol Batt. The Liverpool Regt”. Also entwined initials. The guard of the hilt incorporating a Victorian crowned strung bugle device. Housed in correct steel scabbard with two loose rings. Etching to blade VGC and clear, wear to the plating of the hilt and scabbard.

There are some light stripes and blotches of discolouration throughout. A hard crease lower right edge and some further light creases in that area. Some scattered small dots of foxing throughout. A horizontal line of missing ink very close to the top edge of the plate. A couple of small light surface scuffs, including one just below the nose and one above the left eye close to the mane. A brown dot of ink lower left corner just outside the plate-line. Some dirt at plate edges. Not seen outside of frame.
