Brass D shape knuckle bow with downswept quillon. Double langets. Brass backstrap with flat top pommel. Contained in its brass scabbard with two loose hanging rings. Minor dents to scabbard.

Floral cast knuckle bow and backstrap. Wooden grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its steel scabbard with two loose hanging rings. Rear folding section of hilt absent.

21 1/4 inch single edged, slightly curved blade. Central fuller running through the point. Traces of etching. French silver double quillon crossguard with marks for “Louis-Pierre Favier”. Silver ferrule and bucket pommel. Fluted and ribbed ebony grip. Contained in a later simple leather scabbard. This pattern of hanger was carried by French Naval Officers. See Sea Service by May & Annis.

Brass acorn terminating S shape crossguard with central Vic crown Naval anchor within an oak leaf cartouche. Rear locking stud. Brass lion mask and main pommel and backstrap. Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its leather scabbard with brass mounts. The throat with two loose hanging rings. Blade with dark patina and some edge knocks. Brass tarnished.

Basil Ivan Rákóczi (1908-1979)In the Beginning: A folio of lithographs illustrating 'The Book of Genesis'A folio of sixteen hand printed etchings with accompanying text. Each etching, 32.5 x 42cm (12½ x 16½''), is signed and numbered 31/50. The folio is signed again by the artist, by the printer Marita Van der Poest Clément and by Alexandre Sarrés who organised the layout. The folio was completed 16th February 1961 on the presses of the circle of the White Stag and the folio, which is presented in a slipcase, is dedicated to friends of the artist.Published by Friends of the White Stag (White Stag Press). 50 copies were hand-printed on Velin d’Arches paper, signed by the artist and numbered 1-50.Seven extra copies, containing five original proofs of the illustrations printed on Japanese Torinoko Kozo paper, were marked A to G. Three printer’s copies marked X, XX and XXX have been reserved by the collaborators in the creation of this folio. The hand-printing was done by Marita van der Poest Clement, the composition and the lay out were executed by Alexander Sarres. The black and white etchings and the facsimile writing of the text, taken from the King James Version of the Bible, were made by Basil Ivan Rakoczi.The original drawings were done by Rakoczi.The printing was completed 16/2/1961 on the Circle of the White Stag presses in Paris.
