India.- Daniell (William), Attributed to. Figures beside a monument, etching with monochrome wash, initialled in ink 'WD', further inscribed twice below in pencil 'W. Daniell', on wove paper without watermark, sheet 265 x 340 mm (10 1/2 x 13 1/4 in), handling creases and surface dirt, minor spotting, hinged into mount, unframed, [circa 1790s or slightly later]⁂ We have been unable to trace another example of the present subject, which appears to possibly be an intermediate state with only an etched outline and no aquatint.
