SIR DAVID MUIRHEAD BONE (1876-1953) Joseph Conrad (1857-1924, novelist) etching, signed on mount, dated 1923 26cm x 18cm Note: Bone met Conrad in 1923 aboard the Tuscania. Conrad sat for this portrait on 22nd May 1923 at Folly Farm, Great Barrington, Connecticut, while listening to Brahms. Bone executed three portraits of Conrad.
