A large silver presentation cup, maker's mark rubbed, London 1925, in the Art Nouveau style, the hammered body with three outswept tendril like handles, to flared base, engraved 'City of Nottingham Presented to Mr Alderman E. Huntsman.... ...on the occasion of the opening of North Wilford Power Station. 17th November 1925'. 26.2cm high, 63 oz, on a black wood plinth, together with an electro plate entree dish, of lobed outlined, the lid engraved 'Presented to Alderman E. Huntsman From the staff Nottingham Reform Club. Nov. 23. 1928' (2)
AN EARLY VICTORIAN MAHOGANY LINEN PRESS of breakfront form, the top above a moulded frieze with two central panelled cupboard doors enclosing fitted slides and two long drawers, flanked by conforming cupboards enclosing six short drawers and four slides and a single short drawer, on a plinth base, 78" wide.
The Mackeson Gold Cup, in silver gilt and of Neo-Classical style, engraved with a steeple chaser and inscribed the date of the race, above chased and repousse stiff leaves and pomegranates, the border with oats, barley and hops, having two cast foliage decorated loop handles, on a knopped fan fluted decorated spreading circular foot and a conforming cover with a cast acanthus finial. 14in. (35.5cm.) high. Makers Mappin and Webb. Sheffield, 1971. 53oz. (1650g.). With a mahogany plinth and fitted storage box. Together with five gilt medallions, one with yellow enamel decoration and framed with a certificate of authenticity, one framed for 20the running of the race in 1979, with three more boxed. (6).
A late Victorian inlaid figured walnut veneered Davenport, fitted a stationary compartment with rising domed lid, a leather inset flap and frieze with inlay, the interior veneered in birds eye maple, one side with four graduated cedar-lined drawers, the reverse with dummy drawers with wood knob handles, the front with pilasters and inlaid panel, the plinth on bun feet with castors. 21in. (53.5cm.) wide.
A small early 19th century mantel clock, the 8-day twin fussee movement striking and repeating on a bell, the back plate inscribed Viner and Co. 233 Regent Street. London and also inscribed on the circular white enamel dial, with a gilt engine turned brass quadrant surround, the ebonized mahogany case inlaid brass marquetry and stringing, the sloping plinth top centred a cast gilt brass flaming finial, the sides with foliage gilt brass applique ring handles above red fabric backed pierced brass frets, a pull cord for the repeat, the plinth base with a brass moulding, on turned feet. 12.75in. (32.5cm.) high.
An early 20th Century mahogany Compendium Wardrobe by Gillows of Lancester, the moulded breakfront cornice over two panelled doors enclosing shelving, with five short and four full width drawers below, flanked on either side by panelled doors with interior mirrors, enclosing slides and hanging space respectively, on a plinth base, 87 ½” wide, 88 ½” high
