Ltd., London, 1913, tapering and on spreading foot, the lower body with applied strapwork, with two scroll handles, engraved with an inscription, on ebonised wood plinth, 30.5cm high including plinth, the cup 22.5cm high, 39oz 12dwt The inscription reads 'Smithfield Club Cattle Show London 1914 Breed Cup for the Best Pen of Lincoln Longwool Sheep won by A. B. Holt.'. Fully marked near rim. The marks are generally clear. Further stamped underneath 'Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ltd 112 Regent St London. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving. There are scratches and marks to the plinth
A George V Silver Cup, by Henry Atkin, Sheffield, 1925, the bowl circular and on spreading trumpet foot, with two scroll handles, engraved with an inscription to Mr and Mrs Sprott for First Prize Pair of Heifers, on ebonised wood plinth, 18cm high including plinth, 8oz 11dwt. Fully marked near rim. There are some surface scratches and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a minor softening to the engraving. There are some marks to the plinth.
A George V Silver Cup and Cover and An Elizabeth II Silver Cup and Cover, The First by Mappin and Webb, London, 1932, The Second by Adie Brothers, Birmingham, 1959, each differing tapering cylindrical and on spreading base, the first engraved with an inscription to Ancell B. Holt for best Lincolnshire Red Shorthorn Bull, the second engraved as the Martini Challenge Cup for the Nottingham Speed Boat Club, on ebonised plinth, 29cm high including plinth and smaller, gross weight 16oz 19dwt (2) . Each fully marked near rim. The first further fully marked on cover bezel, the second part marked on cover bezel, There is some wear to the marks, though they are generally still legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear. The wear is noticeable as softening to the engraving. There are some bruises to the rims and covers of each so they don't close fully. The second cup has a small metal bracket underneath for fixing to the base. The weight of this is included in the total weight. There are some scuffs to the plinth.

He became a Freeman of Lancaster in 1749. In 1766 he was working in Pudding Lane, Lancaster before moving to Ermont Bridge in 1771. He housed his finest clocks in Gillows mahogany cases. Case with small scratches in parts, pediment with small chips to the mouldings, hood door lock is later, plinth with dents in parts, later added feet, back feet are missing, dial slightly discoloured in parts, movement is complete and in going order, with two weights and a pendulum.

A Rare Mulberry Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed Mark Hawkins, St Edmunds Bury, early 18th century, flat top pediment, glazed side panels, nicely figured case with a crossbanded trunk door and a glass lenticle, crossbanded plinth, 12-inch square brass dial with a silvered chapter ring signed, matted dial centre, seconds dial, floral and bird engraved decoration around the date aperture, five pillar movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, 206cm high see illustration Mark Hawkins (Senior) (1674-1750) was a Suffolk clockmaker, working in both Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket. He died in 1750, but two of his three sons, William Hawkins and Mark Hawkins continued as clockmakers. 01.10.20 Case with a good original colour, case with small chips to the edges in parts, some wood worm holes in parts which are not active, later skirting around the bottom of the plinth, dial and movement are clean, movement in going order, with two weights and a pendulum.
