In an ormolu mounted case, summounted by the figure of a young boy wearing a Turkish Fez, seated on a rock, offering a drink to a dog, set on a deep plinth base, with applied foliate decoration, on four scroll feet, (key lacking, pendulum present) 39cm overall height.

19TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL SCHOOL; a pair of oval oils on re-lined canvas, still life studies of floral sprays upon a plinth in ornate foliate decorated frame, 61 x 44cm.Additional InformationBoth have been re-lined, there is craquelure throughout, it is possible they are 18th century rather than 19th century. There are some surface scratches and marks horizontal and vertical. You can see where the canvas is pressed previously and one of the frames is badly damaged to the upper pediment.

A early Gupta carved bust, 4th/6th centuries, length approx 10cm on modern wood block mount, a 14th/15th century Javanese terracotta bust, height 14cm and now mounted on a wooden plinth and a pre-Columbian type artefact, af (3). PROVENANCE: from the Brian Morley collection. Brian Morley was born in 1935 in the Peak District, Derbyshire. He had a grammar school education at Buxton College and went on to study at Goldsmiths School of Art (University of London) from 1954-58. He won prizes for drawing and was given the John Murray Award for landscape painting by the Royal Academy in 1956 and 1958. He then studied painting at the Royal College of Art from 1958-61 where he was awarded his A.R.C.A. After graduation, he taught part-time in various art schools before taking up an appointment as Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Manchester Polytechnic in 1975. He remained in Manchester until he retired as Head of the School of Painting and Printmaking in the Faculty of Art & Design at Manchester University in 2000.

A 19th century French jasperware mantel clock with inlaid and applied gilt metal detail, the finial with a maiden seated on a plinth above circular dial set with both Arabic and Roman numerals above gilt metal plinth depicting cherubs in landscape, height 41cm.Additional InformationWe cannot guarantee that the clock is in full working order. It’s pendulum but no key. The dial has some chips at winding apertures and a nick below XII, three hair line cracks also and some scratches. The figure to the top has a poorly repaired break to the neck, a glue repaired break to the left arm and also to the left foot, lacking lyre. Figure is also slightly loose and grubby throughout. Metal plateau to the top of the clock is loose and the clock is grubby throughout. Some small chips and losses to the case.

Shelves with general wear and off water mark through use. Top with light patina of light scratches to the varnish, nothing serious. Right hand side perhaps slightly sun faded. Metal mounts with general light tarnishing. General light scuffs and marks at the plinth. Overall good. No obvious wood worm.
