A pair of late Victorian silver and cut glass oil lampsboth London, 1897, Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co., with glass chimneys and similar pink waisted shades etched with foliage, the silver plate Hinks and Son. burners above cut glass reservoirs and on stop fluted Corinthian columns on square stepped plinth bases with gadrooned borders, weighted, engraved to base edge '1872. Sep. 25th 1897', (2)Approx height from top of the capital of the columns 30cm, approx height including screwfitting and burner 49cm, approx height including shade not with chimney 59cm. Approx height of shade 15cm, approx height of bulbus shade 16cm. Condition:Some wear to the silvering at the edge of the burners. Good condition otherwise good.
A George III mahogany bookcase cabinetcirca 1760of one piece, the dentil cut cornice above a blind fret frieze, the pair of glazed panel doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the base with a pair of flame panel doors and four ribbon tied and diamond mouldings, on a plinth baseheight 237cm, width 167cm, depth 33cm approxCondition:: In good condition overall with marks, scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. One minor moulding loss to left door. The right return moulding to the base looks later, the side moulding above is later. On the other side the lower section of the base, below the moulding is later. The right to left frieze section is a little uneven to its right side, most likely due to shrinkage to the wood.It is possible the cabinet may have been an architectural fitment.COLLECTION NOTICE. An Art Deco style cold painted spelter figure modelled as a young girl with outstretched arms, set to a stepped marble plinth, 36cm high, with a further Art Deco style cold painted spelter figure modelled as a dancing girl, on shaped marbled base, 23.5cm high (2)Condition report3cm chip to the marble plinth on the tallest figure along with very minor nibbles to the plinth steps, very little fading or discolouration to the figure.Second figure has some play at the plinth, both nuts to the underside have some corrosion with some light staining to the marble. Light tarnishing to the figure particularly on the legs and arms, very minor nibbles to the plinth.
