Lot 142

An early 19th century oak longcase clock, broken swan neck pediment with brass decoration to the centre, carved frieze above a brass and gilded dial set with Roman and Arabic numerals, and subsidiary dial, single raised panel door to curved panel base, approx height 216 cm. CONDITION REPORT Overall good condition, appears to have been recently refinished. The base plinth panel has a vertical split to the left hand portion and the lower right hand corner is missing. Otherwise the case appears to be in fairly good order, with only slight signs of surface wear commensurate with age. The hood pillar caps are gold painted and the surface is not very good. The square dial is 31cm, the dial appears to be sat ever so slightly off-centre in the hood. On the upper section of the door, the body to the left hand side, there is a hole where there has been a previous fixing of some sort.

CONDITION REPORT There is age related wear particularly to the top of the chest in the form of some surface scratches and a little fading, some knocks and scratches to the sides, vary small areas of missing veneer , no sign of major restoration or woodworm

Lot 30

A 19th century mahogany Wellington chest of seven drawers, with acanthus decoration to either side of pillar, to plinth base, 102 x 49 x 35cm. CONDITION REPORT There is surface wear throughout the top including crazing, scuffs, scrapes, dents, stains, etc. The hinged right hand section functions as it should, although we do not have a key. There are several splits to the right hand side of the carcass and also two large splits to the left hand side. The plinth base front left corner has worn away, looks like possible pet damage. Otherwise ok and overall still a rather pleasing piece.

CONDITION REPORT Replaced hinges, internal taped repairs to lid, several replaced sections including the back top bar, uprights to the side, feet etcmade up of several different pieces

An Edwardian floor standing display cabinet, stepped frieze above twin astragal glazed doors, with glass panels to either side, five later interior glass shelves, to plinth base, 199 x 61 x 35cm. CONDITION REPORT The original silk lining to the back is intact, the shelves appear to be later glass shelves, there is some wear to the outer in the form of surface scratches, some deeper scratches, no obvious signs of major restoration or woodworm.

A pair of composite garden planters, each to stepped plinth base in the Classical style, height of each 74cm, diameter of each pot 38cm, a green painted wrought iron plant stand, a green painted metal garden lantern in the Oriental style, various stone garden ornaments, a large Union Flag on an extending flagpole and a small metal plant stand (7).

Lot 143

An early 19th century mahogany crossbanded and satinwood inlaid longcase clock, the arched pediment above circular silvered dial inscribed, 'Fredk. Balde, Bootle & Liverpool', with the outer chapter ring having Arabic numerals for minutes and with subsidiary seconds dial and Roman numerals for the hours, the glazed door within an ornate case to a plinth base, the movement being thirty hours, height 204cm. CONDITION REPORT There are a few split to the veneer commensurate with age and a couple of small sections missing, there is also an unsightly area of damage to the side of the dial where the return clasp fits, and an old repair to the veneer around the hinge, the dial is quite dark, glazed door is crack and there are a couple of horizontal cracks running through the lower section of the case with general surface wear throughout, retains a good colour. Face is scratched. Hood has a hole to the left of the face. Crack to glass in trunk. Two splits across the base. Veneer missing to front right corner bottom of hood. Marquetry missing to very top of arch on hood.The movement appears fairly clean and complete. It ticks when wound, although it appears to take two steps forward before pausing, so the movement would benefit from a service.

Lot 404

KAMIKO; a small bronze sculpture of a Samurai warrior mounted on an oval marble plinth, height 19cm, stamped to the reverse 'Kamiko'. CONDITION REPORT Overall good condition, no obvious signs of fault, damage or restoration. There is some slight surface wear to the marble base.

CONDITION REPORT There is age related wear throughout in the form of surface scratches and deeper scratches, the desk top is slightly loose, the original locks have been replaced as have the handles, some small areas of missing wood, various old cracks to the body, no obvious signs of restoration or woodworm

Lot 46

A Victorian mahogany serpentine front three-drawer chest, to curving plinth base (possibly restyled from a larger piece of furniture), 85 x 90 x 56cm. CONDITION REPORT There is some age-related wear and tear in the form of surface scratches. Small areas of veneer missing, however it appears to possibly have been remodelled from a larger piece of furniture, as the serpentine front drawer to the top is not a good fit from side to side. Also on one side, the fluted pillar is totally covered, the other side it is revealed. It appears that an extra piece of beading has been added to one side of the chest.

Lot 17

A 19th century mahogany bow-front four-drawer chest, to shaped plinth base, 72 x 69 x 46cm. CONDITION REPORT The top has a cut piece of glass covering the top, but there are light surface scratches, indentations, crazing top the polish, dents, scuffs, scrapes, etc below the glass. The back left corner has a small section of the string inlay missing accompanied by a split from the left hand side, which runs approximately 20cm towards the centre. There is a similar split to the front edge which runs right the way across the width of the chest. The handles appear to be later replacements due to markings on the inside of the drawer fronts. there are minor scuffs and scrapes to the left hand side, with a couple of notable divots to the back edge. Further minor scuffs and scrapes, with minor scuffing to the drawer fronts and feet.
