A William IV presentation silver snuff box on stand, by Edward Smith, Birmingham 1836, rectangular form, the hinged cover with a heavy foliate scroll and fluted border, inscribed 'To Mr Henry W. Vousley, Presented by the Committee of the Licensed Victuallers Protection Society as a token of respect for his strict attention in the discharge of the arduous duties of Chairman during the year 1837 and for his kind endeavours at all times to promote the interests of the Society, 26 Jan 1838', on a raised wooden plinth, applied with a plaque inscribed with the subsequent owners of the box, length 8.8cm, length of plinth 19.5cm, approx. weight 5.2oz.
A RARE VIKING PERIOD PATTERN WELDED AND INLAID SWORD CIRCA 900, 75.25cm fullered blade, characteristic hilt of Petersen Type H form, inlaid to the cross guard with geometric designs and inverted swastika forms, the triangular form pommel with oblong plinth decorated to match. A similar sword was lent to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by Laird Landmann and Kathleen Kinney (accession number L.2008.29.2). That particular sword was marked with the name of its maker Hartolfr. See plate VI Swords of the Viking Age by Ian Peirce for a pommel of matching form. For a similar sword, in relic condition, see Bonhams San Francisco 29th June 2005 Lot 2410, realised $18,400. British Society of Cinematographers Technical Award plus, The B.S.C. 'Bert Easey' Technical award, a gold coloured trophy of a camera mounted on a wooden plinth, this was awarded to Bill Chitty in 1985 for his design of innovative lighting Equipment over many years (the first time the award was given to a non-camera operative). Bill was an electrician and gaffer on around twenty films from 1964-1974 including African Queen, The Wooden Horse, Anne of the Thousand Day and others. He was also responsible for the television lighting for Churchill's funeral at St Paul's Cathedral and developed 'The Wendy' lighting units still used today. Included is a large amount of detailed information about Bill's life and includes school reports, letters of commendation from various studios, dedicated signed photographs from John Mills, Dana Andrews and others, photographs from the films he worked on including a cricket match and signed 'Bogie', film stills including Jane Russell, a script for 'The Homecoming' and more - (the printed plaque on the award has the incorrect spelling of Easey)

Lucille Sévin (French, fl.1920-1940),'Isadora', an opalescent glass figure of a nude wearing a cloak, moulded 'Etling France 50', raised on a chrome metal plinth, 22cm highIn collaboration with Edmund Etling, Sévin produced several works in bronze, glass and ivory. This is believed to represent the American dancer Isadora Duncan. Sévin exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français, winning a bronze medal in 1932, a silver medal in 1937, and a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris.Condition ReportSome spotting to the underside of the plinth.Plinth has small knock and the plinth slightly out of shape.Some minor spots to areas of the glass - shown in further photos added to the website.

It was subsequently bought in 1943 by Richard Papelien, an engineer and celebrated figure in the automotive industry.The house was constructed with brick and concrete, and the three lots for sale here are believed to have been designed and made specifically for the building.Marcel Breuer briefly studied art in Vienna before joining the Bauhaus in the 1920s. First a student and then a teacher, he became head of the celebrated furniture workshop. On leaving the Bauhaus, Breuer practised as an architect in Berlin before fleeing the Nazi regime and moving to London in 1935, where he stayed for two years. In 1939, he was invited by Walter Gropius (the founder of the Bauhaus and former teacher of Breuer) to work at Harvard University.Condition ReportAll pieces need restoration - losses to the veneers.
