A late Victorian c1860 30-hour chain driven oak and mahogany longcase clock with a swan neck pediment with wooden paterae and a central wooden finial, broad glazed break arch door flanked by turned pillars, on a veneered trunk with canted corners, a short oak door with a flat top, cross banding and applied carved cresting above, on an oak plinth with a shaped integral feet, fully painted dial with Roman numerals and minute track, matching painted spandrels and a depiction of a farm boy with horses in the arch, dial inscribed �Ness, Kirby Moorside�, dial pinned directly to a countwheel recoil anchor movement striking the hours on a bell. With pendulum and weight. Original casemakers label pasted to the backboard of the case.There were five generations of the �Ness� family of clockmakers in Kirby Moorside from 1823 -1912.
A small oak cased replica 18th century longcase clock c1940, 188cm high, with a traditional swan�s neck pediment, glazed break arch hood door with flanking pilasters, long trunk door with a double spire shaped top, on a rectangular plinth with a raised panel to the front, fitted with a mid-20th century spring driven Westminster chiming 8-day movement striking the quarters, halves and hours on eight gong rods, with a corresponding 18th century styled brass dial with engraved chapter ring, spandrels and heavily engraved dial centre, convex boss to the arch inscribed �Tempus Fugit�With pendulum.
