A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH BLACK SLATE AND MARBLE MANTEL CLOCK having a two-piece enamelled dial with Roman hours, a visible brocot escapement and two winding apertures, all within a veined marble-fronted barrel between scrolls, the moulded, shaped plinth base with green veined marble embellishment, the striking movement marked `Medaille De Bronze J Marti et Cie` & `6015` pendulum present. 26cm(h) x 40cm(w) x 15cm(d) Condition Reports: The bell missing, some corner knocks and flake chips but generally good.
A 19TH CENTURY INLAID MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY LONG CASE CLOCK by James Park, Kilmacolm, having a moulded flat-topped hood with arched glazed door in geometric banding, the cockbeaded trunk door with central foliate paterae in geometric banding and quadrant corners, the trunk with banding and foliate frieze, the base with conche shell paterae and conforming banding, raised on a plinth, the arch of the dial painted with a ploughing scene, the chapter ring with Roman hours, Arabic minutes, two subsidiary dials, two winding apertures and the makers name, all in figural depictions of the seasons, sold with two weights and pendulum. 205cm(h) Condition Reports: Repairs to inlay and veneer, the dial fully re-painted with makers location misspelt (Kilmalcom should be Kilmacolm) viewing advised.

A Navigation Aerienne medal, in silver, with “triptych” style design showing obverse a biplane, angel/Victory figure, and airship over the sea above plinth L.Ae.F Navigation Aerienne, the reverse with designer observing bird in flight, presentation inscription to Lieutenant Thoret, mechanic working at an engine, the edge stamped “1ARGENT”, 9.8cm wide, matt finish, GVF, together with a similar in gilt, the plinth marked Ae.C.F Navigation Aerienne, the reverse inscribed “Au Lieutenant Thoret, performance la plus remarquable du meeting de Vauville 1923”, the edge stamped “2ARGENT”, NEF, the latter housed in a fitted plush lined case (some wear to case). Note: On 3rd January 1923 the French Lieutenant Thoret claimed a world record when gliding for over 7 hours in a Hanriot HD14 biplane with the engine stopped.GC See Plate 3
A 1930’s musical tinplate chair-O-plane style toy. An interesting small tinplate German style toy based on a cylindrical base containing chimes driven by a rotating handle to one end. The base 10cm long by 6cm diameter is finished in yellow with a crackled orange design to the main surfaces, fitted with feet to aid use. This is connected to a central support in yellow with the same crackle design to the top, off which is hung a parasol and 3 Zeppelin style airships. Seated to a plinth on the central support are 3 female figures. Along with 3 musical chimes all rotate when the handle is turned. GC. See Plate 5
