A fine pair of 19th century French estours green marble and ormolu mounted columns, each with a detachable square revolving top above a Corinthian capital, the interiors stamped 'GB 296' and 'GABROL', possibly for Gaspard Brandt (1796-1846) above a turned stem and a laurel wreath base on a stepped plinth, 113.2cm high, 29cm square. (2) Provenance: Bought from Great Brampton House Antiques, 8th December 1983.
'The Orrery Clock', a brass pedestal timepiece by St. James's House Co., with an eight day horizontal movement with an inverted platform lever escapement, with a Roman numeral hour and subsidiary minutes ring, the top modelled with an armillary sphere, enclosing an orrery simulating the orbits of six planets around the sun, on a turned wooden plinth base applied with two plaques inscribed 'THE ORRERY CLOCK JUNE 1983' and 'The St James's House Co. London, No. 86-1500', 43.7cm high. Provenance: From the collection of Sir Jeremy Lever.

A japanned musical longcase clock, the eight day three train movement with four turned pillars and an anchor escapement, striking on a bell with a graduated set of eight bells and with a five centimetre pinned musical cylinder, the square dial with a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals with subsidiary seconds dial, inscribed 'J Windmills London', with a matted and engraved centre with cast cherub spandrels, with an arched hood and with japanned decoration with chinoiserie scenes of figures with pagoda's, birds, trees and bridges, with a later plinth base, 217.8cm high. A Regency gilt bronze and cut glass three light candelabrum in the manner of John Blades, the lappet sconces above scalloped drip-pans hung with faceted rectangular drops and lustres, with reeded scroll arms above a lobed central support on a circular plinth and anthemion hairy paw feet, 64.3cm high, 45.5cm wide. John Blades (c. 1751-1829) established his glass and chandelier showroom at 5 Ludgate Hill in 1783. He was appointed glassmaker to George III in 1789. He is well known for his collaboration with the architect J. B. Papworth. Provenance: From the collection of Sir Jeremy Lever.

After Antonio Canova (Italian 1757-1822). A 19th century bronze model of a recumbent lion, on an alabaster plinth, 18cm long. The original pair of lions were sculpted by Canova in 1792 to adorn the tomb of Pope Clement XIII in St. Peter's Rome. Provenance: From the collection of Sir Jeremy Lever.
