AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE AND CARVED IVORY FIGURE OF A BOY IN AN AIRPLANE, AFTER GEORGES OMERTH (1895-1925), cast as flying over a Continental village, cast signature to tail of plane, stamped 1757 to the side of a building, mounted on an onyx plinth, a.f, and on a shaped rectangular gilt metal base stamped to the underside 'OUD' and 'FABRICATION FRANCAISE * PARIS - G.M *', height 26.5cm x width 24cm (condition: onyx base has a large chunk missing and a fracture line running through the base possibly as a consequence of the visible damage, the metal base plate is bent upwards where the onyx is missing, the plane propeller is off and there is evidence of previous solder repair at the join, the right hand wheel is loose and the plane is missing all four chains that attach to the corners of the wings, the plaque on the base is titled 'AEROPLANE Par Omertz')
