An impressive French mahogany cased longcase regulator, possibly from the Franche-Comte circa 1870, the glazed case with arched beveled door and further bevelled side panels enclosing a convex white enamel dial (14") with Roman numerals, within a finely engine turned and gilded bezel, with steel hands and sweep seconds hand, the substantial movement having four heavy plate pillars secured by steel bolts and brass collets, pinwheel escapement, and supporting a massive gridiron pendulum, the mechanism with unusual winding action using a cord on a pulley which raises the single brass case weight when repeated, the case with panelled boxbase to a plinth, h.221cm

A Victorian mahogany chiffonier, the superstructure with serpentine shelf, the base with drawer above a pair of panelled cupboard doors with arched mouldings and with plinth beneath. Width 46.5 ins. CONDITION REPORT: Generally very good clean condition. The superstructure is in good order and the top flat. The frieze drawer is good and clean and operates as it should. Neither door is warped and the plinth base is in clean condition. There are no cracks to the sides.
