This became the most sought after of the equestrian figures produced by Royal Worcester, particularly so as post-war restrictions at the time meant rich ornamental pieces could only be sold for export and most were shipped to Commonwealth countries. The present lot has been consigned for sale from Australia.The complete process of manufacturing was recorded in a film made in 1950. A Victorian burr walnut mirror back marble topped serpentine fronted credenza, with eagle finial above shaped mirror and base section of three mirrored doors to plinth base, decorated throughout with applied carved floral decoration, 193 x 151 x 54cm (af). CONDITION REPORT There are several loose bits from the floral detail on the mirror frame, we are unsure if we have all of the missing pieces. The marble top is dull, scratched and stained and the base section has no keys for the doors, with scuff marks from where the lower section of the door has scuffed the plinth base, further minor wear including scuffs, scrapes, minor losses, etc throughout.
