A Victorian mahogany twin pedestal partner's desk, with black leather skiver and eleven drawers opposing eleven further drawers, on plinth feet with concealed castors, W.4ft 10in. D.3ft 4in. H.2ft 7in.CONDITION: Overall in slightly neglected condition, top is of a good rich colour, skiver is old and with light scuffing and wear, minor dents and nicks around the frieze, turned knob handles have small chips and damages to the tips of the knobs, drawers are fitted with a Bramah lock but no key, one knob handle missing from the side drawers, overall rather dirty and dusty but should restore to good effect.
After Pierre Jules Mene. A bronze group of a ghillie, pony and hounds, width 23in. height 20in.CONDITION: This is a late 20th century copy, the casting is reasonable but not fine, overall of a dull chocolate brown patination but raised sections such as the top of his hat and back of the horse have been polished to a light golden tone, white paint or dirt marks are scattered around the head of the fox and other crevices, on a black marble plinth.
Henri Fugère (French, 1872 ~ 1944) - an Art Deco patinated bronze figure of a cymbals dancer, signed and with foundry mark 'AUSTRIA MADE'', on onyx plinth, height 21.5in.CONDITION: Overall with a matted slightly dulled near grey finish that once had more brown tones to it, where worn the raised areas show mostly as silver but where further worn do have a dark bronze colour, apparently unsigned, original plinth with a few minor nicks.
A Regency ormolu mounted rosewood breakfront side cabinet, with grey marble top and two central ormolu framed silk pleated panelled doors enclosing two shelves, flanked by open shelves and all supported by gilt gesso ionic columns, on plinth foot, W.5ft 9in. D.1ft 6in. H.3ft 2in.CONDITION: Top in very good condition, one or two very minor flaws, probably is a later replacement as it overhangs the front when pushed in line with the back, this has probably been done to overhang a skirting board or similar, main body of the piece of good rich colour just a little faded at the foot, columns with some minor flaws and scuffing and having an attractive matted finish, ormolu mounts of good quality and crisp casting, comes with what looks to the original lock with working key, interior a little mouldy but still with original timbered finish, minor scuffs and dents to the plinth.
A French Art Deco bronzed spelter table lamp, modelled as a kneeling dancer holding aloft a spherical marbled glass globe, on black marble plinth, height 21in.CONDITION: Metal figure had a golden bronze patination in the main but much of this has now been rubbed down to a darker blackish ground metal colour, in addition there are some light surface scuffs and scrapes, the globe may well be the original, certainly fits well and does look a little dirty, plinth very dusty but otherwise good.
A Chinese Ming sancai model of a day bed and thirteen funeral offerings, 16th century, the offerings in the form of two pig's heads, vessels and other food, 29cm wideCONDITION: Some minor chips to the corners of the plinth base, some weathering to the glaze and remnants of soil to all items.
Ch. Gaultier, Bordeaux. A late 19th / early 20th century French bronze and ormolu mantel clock, modelled with Cupid holding a cockerel, with floral painted enamel dial, unsigned eight day movement, on a Sienna marble plinth and ormolu toupie feet, height 15.75in. width 10.25in. depth 6in.CONDITION: Overall in somewhat neglected condition, bronze of the cherub is a good rich chocolate brown but has some green verdigris where the left leg meets the ormolu case, cockerel has a dull ormolu finish, main body of the clock ranges from mid gilt to dark tone with pronounced green oxidisation or verdigris showing on the left side, dial perhaps a little dirty but otherwise looks good, signed CH. Gaultier, Bordeaux, movement looks complete but lacks pendulum and key, very minor fritting around the edges of the marble base, feet a little dull in finish, overall in need some restoration but a very high quality clock.
An Amalric Walter pate de verre glass figure 'Tanagra', in green to white frosted glass, signed A. Walter Nancy, 20cm highCONDITION: The figure is typically suffused with minute bubbles giving it a frosted look, there are a couple of tiny splinter chips to the front right corner of the plinth, the figure is a little bit grubby otherwise in good condition with no cracks detected.
A William IV rosewood dwarf bookcase, with moulded top and four foliate capped columns dividing the adjustable shelves, on plinth foot, W.6ft 6in. D.1ft 5in. H.3ft 6in.CONDITION: Overall a little evenly faded with a slightly dull finish, top suffers from old scuffs and scratches and a split running through the grain from the right handside, the right handside is slightly more faded than elsewhere, comes with two adjustable central shelves and six adjustable side shelves, right hand side has two very small holes drilled into it half way down, plinth a little scuffed but overall but for the need of a repolish in good condition.
Joseph Windmills of London. A late 17th century marquetry and walnut cased eight day longcase clock, the 11 inch square brass dial with signed silvered Roman chapter ring, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, movement striking on a bell, the case with later embellishment, H.6ft 9in.CONDITION: This clock looks to have seen extensive restoration particularly to the case within recent years, the case looks to be old but is almost not original to the movement and has been embellished with oyster veneer and parquetry panels, the three gilt ball finials all have rubbing to the gilding, otherwise the case is of an even slightly flatish mid walnut tone, right hand glass to the hood is cracked, trunk door has an old working lock and is slightly bowed inwards, sides of the trunk both slightly bow outwards, box base again with old repairs and replaced plinth, dial and movement look to be in very good clean condition, comes with a pendulum and two brass cased weights, comes for sale from a deceased estate.
Karl Hagenauer. A brass and ebonised bronze figure of an African water carrier, with vase on her head and brass rings around her neck and one leg, on integral plinth base with maker's stamp, height 46in.CONDITION: Brass work in fair state of polish, ebonised bronze work has had much of the original patination rubbed away over the years, base is a little scuffed but overall honest condition.
Lucien Gibert (1904-1988) - an Art Deco silvered spelter figure of a female archer, standing with ivorine bow, on a signed marble plinth H. 26.5in. W. 22.5in.CONDITION: Good untouched condition, a little dirty with some light wear but essentially good order. Plinth has a few very fine chips to the edges.
Jones, Strand. An early Victorian brass skeleton clock, with silvered Roman chapter ring and subsidiary date? ring, single fusee movement and lyre shaped frame, signed and numbered 338, standing upon matt silvered plinths, ebonised base and glass dome, clock height 12in. height with plinth 16.5in. height with dome 20in.CONDITION: Overall looks to be in good condition, frame and movement in clean bright order with a few small nicks and dents particularly lower down near the signing, dial is slightly oxidised, comes with an adjustable brass and steel pendulum which has a broken ribbon, and an old winding key, not tested for timekeeping. Ebonised plinth looks original and is rubbed and scuffed, dome quite probably original.
A 19th century French bronze mantel clock, modelled as Cronos holding an ormolu scythe, the drum movement with serpent bezel and silvered Roman dial, on a Sienna marble plinth, height 17.5in.CONDITION: Overall in honest untouched condition, main figure has a dark brown to blackish patination with some rubbing on the raised extremities, scythe may well be a later replacement but looks appropriate, dial in good clean condition, movement not tested for timekeeping. Plinth possibly later but in good order.
A Louis XVI style bronze and ormolu fender, with putto and foliate scroll terminals, length 48in. height 24in.CONDITION: Light wear and general oxidisation to all of the gilt work, bronze putti of a dark blackish patination again with some rubbing and oxidisation to the scrolls that they hold, lower plinth section of a plain bronze colour with some spotting.
A 19th Century French Empire style ormolu mantel clock, modelled with a figure of Odysseus standing beside a plinth with various other classical motifs, dial signed Foisse à Bologne, unsigned eight day countwheel movement, height 15in.CONDITION: Overall rather dusty but the ormolu in the main with a good gilt finish just some very light rubbing to the extremities, central eagle and sheet music mount is loose and not fixed in place, left hand trophy mount is a little loose, dial very dirty with hairline crack at 10 o'clock and chipping to the left hand winding hole, hands look original, movement complete and with a delicate pendulum but not tested for timekeeping, minor spotting around the lower part of the case, no back door.
A 19th century French flame mahogany commode, with black granite top, divided frieze drawer and three further long drawers and a plinth drawer, on block feet, W.4ft 2in. D.1ft 10in. H.3ft 2in.CONDITION: Top is probably later but does have some age and also suffers from a number of light surface scratches particularly on the left, no key to any of the locks, top drawer has central divisions within it, next drawer down lacks it lock and has original handles, following drawer has lock but no handles and appears never to have had them, bottom drawer has lock and handles, overall good rich colour, some light scuffing around the escutcheons particularly on the middle drawer, a few vertical splits running up both sides.
Brault. An Art Deco patinated bronze model of a prowling panther, with light green brown patination, on variegated marble plinth, width 29.5in. height 8.5in.CONDITION: Honest original untouched condition, some minor dirt specks and very light rubbing to the bronze but overall very good, minor nicks to the front two corners of the plinth.
A good pair of Flight, Barr & Barr spill vases, c.1825, each finely painted with a young courting couple and probably the same couple in old age, each seated in a landscape withing gilt 'seaweed' borders, square bases, each with inscribed marks to the base and titles 'seats beneath the shade' and 'that only sheltered thefts of harmless love', 9cm highCONDITION: In excellent condition with very good gilding, one with a minute mark to the edge of the plinth base, possibly a gilt flake.
Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet (1880–1950) - an Art Deco patinated bronze figure of a naked hoop dancer, on a pink and grey stepped marble plinth, height 22in.CONDITION: Honest untouched condition, some light wear to the golden green patination particularly at the extremities, signed at the back on the top of the plinth which has minor nicks and dents.
A pair of early Victorian cast iron occasional tables, with later circular black granite tops, foliate scroll underframes and plinth feet, Diam. 1ft 9in. H.2ft 4in.CONDITION: Both tops are later and suffer from varying degrees of light surface scratching, underframes with old black paint, a little dirty and worn at the bases.
A George III mahogany eight day chiming longcase clock, the arched 12 inch brass dial with silvered eagle and tempus fugit plaque over Roman chapter ring and subsidiary seconds, H.7ft 9in.CONDITION: Case of very good rich dark reddish mahogany tone and looks honest and untouched for many years, minor cracks and small faults throughout, more notable faults include scratching and scuffing of the trunk door where it rubs at the bottom, right side with a rather matted finish and would benefit from repolishing, trunk door lock is a later replacement and no key present, the plinth is a later replacement, dial and movement look to be in very good clean condition with no faults noted, although quite probably the movement is somewhat later being associated to the case, comes with three cast iron weights and a brass pendulum, not tested for timekeeping.
An early 19th century cast iron model of a lion standing with it's foot upon a brass ball, on marble plinth and further ormolu mounted simulated marble plinth, width 15in. height 9.25in.CONDITION: Fairly crisply cast particularly so for cast iron, possibly at one time gilt but now showing traces of gold paint in the recesses, the brass ball is slightly dented and scuffed, and the black marble plinth may well be a later replacement and has two wire connections to the lion's feet sticking out the bottom, these are concealed by the lower plinth, the ormolu is rather dirty and matted and looks to have had some retouching with gold paint, lower part of the plinth is black slate which has been cold painted to look like marble and has some chipping particularly at the front right corner.
