A unique reduplication of Heinrich Hoffmanns classic tale 'Struwwelpeter' (Shock-headed Peter), circa 1900, each leaf formed from a doubled over piece of silk and lovingly hand painted with text and illustrations encapsulating the charm and humour of the original book, title page as cover reading 'The English Struwwelpeter or Pretty Stories and Funny Pictures', with three pictorials, first page is Shock-Headed Peter, with the familiar pictorial of the unkempt boy upon a square plinth, the book continues faithfully adhering to the form of the original script up until the ninth tale, 'The Story of Johnny Head-In-Air', the final text in the tale reading 'Silly little Johnny, Look, You have lost your writing book' upon turnover the following page bears the three pictorials for the final chapter, 'The Story of the Flying Robert' but bears no text or further pages, the book is strung bound with remains of a card spine, 14 x 11in. (35.6 x 28cm.). * Condition: Ravaged somewhat by time, browned silk, foxing throughout, some smudging to illustrations, however the colours remain vivid.
A late 18th century Channel Islands mahogany cased half hour striking eight day longcase clock, the foliate engraved arched brass dial signed 'Edouard Renouf, Jersey' to the centre and with engraved subsidiary seconds dial at noon, date aperture at six, silvered Roman chapter ring and Strike/Silent to arch, floral and foliate gilt spandrels, twin train bell strike movement, the case with gilt ball and eagle finials over a stepped arched cornice on fluted columns, the trunk with arched door and moulded corners, on a plain plinth with bracket feet, 89½in. (227.5cm.) high.
An early 18th century walnut longcase clock by John Wise of London, eight day movement, square brass dial with silvered and signed Roman chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial at noon to the matted centre, bullseye date aperture at six, pierced gilt cherub spandrels, the flared ogee cornice over a scroll fretwork frieze on turned pilasters, feather banded glazed door, the conforming trunk with quarter veneered door with oval porthole, on a cross banded base on plinth, 87in. (221cm.) high, alterations and restorations.

He spent most of his working life in London, settling there after arriving to present a special commission, commemorating the collaboration between the Italian Committee of Liberation and the British Special Forces during World War II. He is best known for his works studying natural form and movement in bronze. Budgen, Rygate, Fecit, with single hand to the thirty hour brass and steel framed open movement striking on a bell, contained in associated grained wood case with narrow moulded cornice and raised plinth base, 70.5ins high Note : William Budgen recorded working Reigate 1710-1713

A early George III Scottish mahogany longcase clock by Robert Clidsdale of Edinburgh, the 14ins arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, matted dial centre with subsidiary seconds dial and cast mask, urn and leaf scroll pattern spandrels to the later eight day three train movement striking and quarter chiming on nine bells, contained in mahogany case with moulded scroll pediment, cast brass circular paterae and later fretted panels and with slender turned and fluted pillars to the hood, the shaped trunk door veneered in figured mahogany and crossbanded, flanked by fluted quarter columns, the plinth inlaid with bandings and with reeded cant corners, on bracket feet, 93ins high (brass dial and movement of later date) Note : Robert Clidsdale (Clydesdale) recorded working Edinburgh, Apprenticed 1738, working until 1786
