Etherington of Driffield - Rare three-train late 18th century 30-hour longcase clock in an oak case, flat topped hood with dentil moulding and blind fret, break arch hood door with attached pillars, trunk with a conforming door on a deep stepped plinth with shaped base, dial with a fully painted arch and scroll spandrels in raised gesso, an unusual and rare dial having separate dials for the hours and minutes, dial inscribed "Etherington, Dryfield", with a recoil anchor escapement, striking the hours and quarters on three bells. A Victorian walnut marquetry inlaid inverted break-front drop centre open bookcase. With adjustable shelves, flanked by two cupboards, the paneled doors with finely detailed foliate decoration, the sides with leaf and vine. All raised on a plinth base L281cm x D49cm x H130cm. Condition Report: There is a repaired long split to two of the back panels (of the narrowest shelves), there are some relatively minor losses to veneers at edges overall, with a larger loss and area of lifting to veneer front and side of plinth base. Overall there are some typical surface scratches and wear with a few scratches to top. There is no glazing to front and the bookshelves are open. The doors shut flush. The individual elements (plinth, two side cupboard shelves and central shelving section) are separate elements, and they are loosely fitted together with screw holes evident for fitting. Some of the shelves are lacking, there is some wear to the existing shelves and don't fit without some supports or adaption. There is no evidence of there being any central door or woodworm. Internal measurements for books:Cupboards: 51.5cm x 36cm The small side shelves: 28.5cm x 31cmCentral bookcase section: 94.5cm x 31.5cm

Of breakfront form, strung with ebony and boxwood and with rosewood bands, with central glazed mirror-backed cupboard, flanked by Corinthian columns with gilt-metal capitals and two marquetry cupboards inlaid with neo-classical urns issuing flowers and ribboned swags, enclosing shelving, on plinth base with bracket feet, with key, L167cm x D44cm x H108.5cm Condition Report: Overall of good decorative appearance. With small losses to the veneers at the base of the columns at front and around the feet and plinth base. Small old taped repaired split to one back board, Overall the top has very slight surface wear although appears to be in good order overall.

A large Edwardian satin walnut chest of drawers, on a plinth base122w x 55d x 124h cmOverall usable but scruffy. Drawers run ok. Handles are complete. Unrestored and dirty, so surfaces are dry and marked on each side. No keys. Collected from a house move, where it was being used for many years. Timber is solid, not veneered.
