A Royal Worcester serpentine handled oviform pot pourri vase and cover, painted to either side in 'wet' enamels with brambles and wild flowers within chrome green and gilt borders with bud knop and square plinth, 28cm h, printed mark and 63 for 1863 This vase was almost certainly painted by David Bates (1843-1921), a professional artist who first received training at the Worcester factory from about 1855 leaving in 1880. For comparable vases by Bates including an example of the same shape (519), see Sandon (H), Royal Worcester Porcelain from 1862 to the Present Day, plt 46. Pinhead sized flat nick to the rim of the cover, in otherwise excellent condition with no cracks, chips, damage or restoration, the gilding also fine

A good silver plated desk ship's wheel timepiece and barometer, the drum cased back-to-back movements with white enamel dial including a thermometer (H/PB/N trademark) on rectangular plinth inset with a compass, 22cm h, c1900 Feint radial hairline crack to the clock dial which is hardly noticeable. The silver plating worn off in places showing brass but in otherwise fine original condition
An oak longcase clock, the 12 inch painted dial with date sector, subsidiary seconds dial, ringed winding holes signed indistinctly H Bar..., having floral spandrels and a medallion of a girl to the arch, fitted eight day movement in crossbanded case with swan neck pediment and fruitwood pillars, a shaped door to the trunk, 214cm h Some old repainting to the dial. A couple of vertical splits in the base and later boarded plinth but in otherwise sound original condition. The dial, case and movement original.
