A REGENCY MAHOGANY BRACKET CLOCK, of lancet form, the front applied with key fret mouldings, the lower panel inlaid with a marquetry conch shell, the side panels applied with a pair of brass lion mask ring handles, above lancet shaped fretted brass panels, on a moulded plinth and four brass ball feet, the circular white painted dial with Roman hour numerals and brass bezel, the twin fusee movement with anchor escapement, engraved back plate and pendulum, striking on a bell, case 47cm high.
An impressive 'Arts & Crafts' longcase clock. The architectural case in oak, walnut and inlaid hardwoods, with carved roof tiles, and bird and griffin finials, over a pointed Gothic arch with a roundel carved with the initials ‘T.R.’. This above finely carved friezes, semi reeded Corinthian columns, marquetry panels showing unusual animals amongst foliage and a pair of carved dragon panels. The sides also decorated and with an access door for the three large weights. The 14” silvered brass dial inscribed Hurt & Son, Birmingham, with a subsidiary seconds dial and strike silent facility, the three train movement with a dead beat escapement, striking the quarters on eight bells. Now 2.48m high x 71cm wide (plinth base) x 30cm deep. This clock has apparently been reduced in height in the past.
A 'Cotswold School' walnut sideboard, 1940's/50's (possibly by Harry Davoll or a similar craftsman), the top with visible dovetail joints and a low moulded rail, over three drawers with raised panels and bar handles (recessed tops and bottoms), above three cupboard doors, each with a fielded moulded panel and a recessed turning handle, the plinth base also with visible joints, the back and sides with wedged through tenons, 124cm wide x 43cm deep x 92cm high (excluding later castors)
