A 19th century brass fusee skeleton clock, striking on single bell, mounted on mahogany plinth with associated dome, height 29cm, height of dome 28cm. CONDITION REPORT The glass dome is taped around the edge to prevent damage, there are no obvious signs of significant damage - the dome is not original and does not fit the platform. There are no obvious signs of significant damage or repair.
Japy Frères; a vase-shaped parcel gilt bronze clock and garnitures, the clock with putto in chariot and dove decoration to top, above swans to either side of gilded and ceramic dial set with Roman numerals, on a stepped oval plinth base to four bun supports, height 43cm and two three-branch candelabra, height of each 24cm (3).

EARLY VICTORIAN WALNUT TRIPLE WARDROBE, ATTRIBUTED TO GILLOWS 19TH CENTURY the moulded straight cornice with foliate carved outset corner blocks and rope moulding, above a central arched mirror door with foliate scroll cresting flanked by part mirrored and carved panel doors, all opening to hanging space and flanked by fluted and spiral carved corner columns, on a conforming plinth 228cm wide, 217cm high, 66cm deep Provenance: Private collection, Lancashire Note: By family repute, this wardrobe, along with other items of furniture, was purchased by the grandfather of the present owner at the sale of the contents of Witley Court, Worcestershire, in 1938. One of England's largest country houses, it was extensively expanded and remodelled in the 19th century. Queen Adelaide, the widow of William IV, was loaned the house as her principle residence from 1843-1846. It was known in the family as 'Queen Adelaide's wardrobe'.

WALNUT MARQUETRY MONTH-GOING LONGCASE CLOCK, JOSEPH WINDMILLS, LONDON EARLY 18TH CENTURY the stepped caddy top with pierced fret moulding above a silvered Roman number chapter ring signed 'J. Windmills' and matted brass dial with two winding holes, date aperture, and subsidiary seconds dial, flanked by spiral pilasters, above a moulded trunk door with an oval lenticle and plinth base, the case inlaid with figures, strapwork and foliate scrolls; the month-going movement striking a bell 223cm high, 41cm wide, 22cm deep Note: Joseph Windmills, a highly regarded maker, was made Free of The Clockmakers' Company in 1671 and became Master in 1702. His son, Thomas, was apprenticed to him in 1686 and made Free in 1695. Around 1700, Joseph and Thomas became partners in the business and although the majority of their clocks continued to be signed Joseph Windmills, a few were signed Windmills and a very small number were signed by Thomas. Both father and son were deeply involved with The Clockmakers' Company and Thomas became Master in 1718. Joseph died in 1724.
