A George III mahogany 8-day longcase clock by John Gibson, Edinburgh, with anchor escapement striking bell, the swan neck pediment over arched brush metal face, Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and silent dials with date aperture flanked by fluted columns and shaped moulded trunk door flanked by quarter columns and plinth base, 212cm high
A late 19c French garniture de cheminee in ormolu decorated with blue champlevee enamel. The clock element takes the form of a blue enamel urn supported by two cherubs on a rectangular plinth supported by four gilt feet. The urn has side handles and knop finial and is decorated in ormolu ribbons and garlands. The 3.5""diam gilt dial has an enamel centre and the circular movement has a silvered lever platform escapement and is rack striking on a bell. The side elements take the form of enamel pot pourri urns and covers and are supported by putti standing on circular bases with four gilt feet, the clock stands 17"" tall and the side urns 12"" tall.
A late 18c eight day longcase clock, the 12"" arched silvered dial signed William Marsh, London and having strike/silent (mechanism removed) and seconds dials (the date aperture has been filled). The five pillar movement has rack strike and anchor escapement and brass bound weights and brass pendulum rod. It is contained in a black lacquered case with full arched hood and plain columns flanking the dial. The trunk door is divided into two transfer printed scenes, the top one of a shepherdess and her flock and the lower showing a domestic scene of a couple, these are divided by gold lacquered floral and geometric panels. The door has a raised edge London type moulding and the base has another transfer panel showing a bird and floral display. The clock has a plain plinth and stands 85.5"" tall.
An early 19c eight day longcase clock with 12"" square painted dial having florally painted corners and seconds and date rings. The dial centre has been re-painted and bears the spurius name Thomas Moore, Ipswich. It is contained in an oak case with swan neck pediments to the hood with a central ball and spire finial and the plain columns flanking the dial. The trunk has plain quartered columns and a long trunk door with wavy top and the base has an applied rectangular panel with indented corners and a wavy plinth, 85.5"" tall.
A mid 18c eight day longcase clock, the 12"" arched brass dial signed David Rivers, London and having a matted dial centre, scroll spandrels, date and seconds rings and a strike/silent in the arch (disconnected). The five pillar movement has rack strike and anchor escapement and the original bell strike has been converted to a gong in the back of the case. It is contained in a black lacquered case with chinoiserie decoration, the arched hood is surmounted by a pagoda top and has attached columns flanking the dial. The long arched trunk door has chinoiserie decoration of pagodas and trees and at the base a horseman. The base panel shows two lions and the base has a double plinth, 91"" tall overall.
A late Victorian library cabinet, the upper section under a dentil carved and moulded cornice with broken arch pediment, having a shelved book cabinet enclosed by two glazed doors with adjoining cupboard fitted shelves and enclosed by a glazed door, on a base with four central drawers flanked by side cupboards enclosed by panelled doors and supported on a moulded plinth, 72""w, 100""h.
