AN ART DECO SILVER TROPHY AND COVER ON STAND, by Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1935, the stepped circular cover surmounted by the figure of Nike holding a torch in her right-hand and a laurel wreath in her left, the conical trophy with twin handles and engraved with waves, raised on a stepped circular foot, presentation engraving dated 30th January 1936, with silver-mounted ebonised plinth, Birmingham 1936. 34.5cm high exc. plinth, 23.8 troy ounces Note: The engraving reads 'MR ERIC YOUNG J.P.,M.S.. PRESENTED THIS CUP FOR ANNUAL COMPETITION BY MEMBERS OF THE STOKE DIVISION OF THE CITY OF STOKE-ON-TRENT POLICE FORCE FOR PROFICIENCY IN THE ART OF LIFE SAVING. 30TH JANUARY 1936'.CONDITION REPORTMarks clear and well struck to cup - cover further struck with maker's mark, lion passant and conforming date letter; figure of Nike stamped with maker's mark, town mark and lion passant, the finial nut struck with lion passant. Silver band to plinth, marks rubbed but legible. Band not affixed to plinth, lifts off. Cup stands upright, slight rocking to foot. Light surface marks and scratches throughout
Royal Worcester 'The Winner', model No. RW3671 by Doris Lindner, on wooden plinth (a.f). Possible area of re-spraying to red sleeves and whip may have been restored to hand - please see extra images. The height is approimately 28.5cm h including the wooden plinth, which looks to be a replacement base as it does not fit perfectly. Otherwise the condition is fine.
~A 19th century mahogany eight day longcase clock with painted arched dial, incorporating a moon roller and two subsidiaries . Case is faded throughout , some chips in parts and some missing in parts, trunk door slightly bowed, front of the plinth with cracks, dial with chips to the painted surfaces in parts. Movement needs cleaning with the pendulum and two weights.
~An oak and mahogany eight day longcase clock, the painted arched dial signed Isaac Burton, Ulverston, circa 1830. Case is faded. Right-hand side moulding has come off, this piece is present but needs gluing. Plinth with left-hand side panel which has come off and needs securing, this piece is also present. Some beading around the case is missing. Feet are missing. Dial with some chips and scratches. Dial is rubbed in parts. Hour hand is bent. Movement is dirty. With pendulum. No weights.
