Louis Majorelle (1859-1926), an Art Nouveau small carved walnut buffet c.1900 Panelled back with shelf, the top supported on openwork supports carved with chicory and with frieze drawer, two-tiers below, plinth base, sinuous plant form bronze handles 139 cm high, 120 cm wide, 42 cm deep Purchased: Christie's London, 21st November 2012, sale 4326 lot 556It is probable that the surfaces have been refreshed and that the piece has undergone some conservation at some point. Overall there are some old marks, wear and scratches in keeping with light use. There are a few indentations to the top that are fairly new and a group of scratches on the top shelf, left side that are also fairly recent. Some age separation to joints and some lifting of the veneer on the undershelf in keeping with age. There is a split on the under shelf. There are new screws used for the top shelf and possibly later added/or replaced struts (these are not brand new) at the back to give stability to the superstructure. Some attention given to the base. Natural wear to handles.

Base with a few marks and scratches. Overall presents well. Mid to late 19th century mantel cuckoo clock in ornate Black Forest style case, featuring geometric patterns, foliate carvings topped with carved eagle and urns, the movement is driven by twin fusee mechanism, height 68cm and a modern glass-domed anniversary clock (2) Condition ReportThe case is in fair to good condition. There is evidence of small amount of woodworm to the bottom of the plinth but otherwise all appears complete. The movement is dirty but not totally visible. Both bellows are perished. Movement appears complete but requires cleaning. Please see additional photos which show that it is not possible to obtain good photo's of the movement.

A rare Derby biscuit figure group. Palemon and Lavinia, he elegantly dressed with a clock over his shoulder clutching Lavinia's hand and she coyly avoiding his gaze and holding a posy. Raised on a naturalistic circular plinth. Four patch marks, incised mark and N. 366, 27.5cm. Both heads re stuck. Lavinia's right hand repaired. Some firing cracks.
A Chinese Republic period eggshell porcelain lobed bowl on hardwood plinth. Enamelled with pheasants in a landscape with peonies. Having poem inscription, painted to the interior with birds, flowers and insects and with blue ruyi borders. Seal mark, 18.5cm wide. Good condition. Free from chips and cracks.
