A Late Victorian Three Piece Walnut Bedroom Suite with Later Art Deco Handles and Comprising Double Wardrobe with Centre Mirrored Panel and Two Base Drawers on Plinth Base, Dressing Chest with Two Short and Two Long Drawers and Triple Mirror and Washstand Cabinet with Two Drawers Over Cupboard.
A fine old dark green, white veined Marble Plinth in three sections, the tapering column support having spiral fluting and standing on an octagonal base and with a circular capital/platform to the top, 11 1/4`` diameter, 39 1/2`` high approx. Although from a different vendor this would be ideal for the display of the preceding lot, contrasting superbly with the white Marble of the Romanelli sculpture.
From the same military family`s Estate, a Superb Study of a Fox in Silver ably capturing the wily animals movement as it leaps in flight over thorn branches on a rocky base and mounted on an ebonised wood plinth, bearing a crested Silver Plaque inscribed ``15th The King`s Hussars Point to Point Race, 14th April,1890, won by Mr. Harcourt Wood`s b.m. ``Rocket``, 6 yrs. Owner purchased with a legacy bequeathed by the late Captain the Honble. A. Manners, 15th Hussars for the first point to point Race of the Regiment in Ireland``. Bearing the stamp, Elkington & Co., maker `F.E.`, London 1889, 4437 gms. approx. 21 3/4`` long overall, 7 3/4`` high (11 7/8`` incl. of plinth). It may be of significance that the bay mare was named `Rocket` in view of the events referred to in the description of the previous lot in respect of the Battle of Leipzig.
