A marble bust of Brian Hubert Hill (1847-1893), late 19th century, on a rectangular plinth incised on reverse 'Gaffin Sc.Lon', 23" high. Brian Hubert Hill was a Land Agent. His early death was the result of a hunting accident and he is buried in the church at Weston under Redcastle. The west window was given in memory of him. His widow had the bust made from his death mask. The sculptor Thomas Gaffin, son of Edward Gaffin, worked with his father at their workshop in Regent Street where they were renowned for their prolific production of monuments and memorial tablets, running into thousands. Works by the Gaffin firm include Lord Clyde at Westminster Abbey, 1863 and Sir Thomas Reade Congleton, Cheshire 1849

A late 17th century/early 18th century Spanish walnut vargueno with pierced steel escutcheons, bindings and side handles, the central lock plate with architectural finials, flanked by two handles, the plates pierced with the initials MA and IHS, with remnants of red velvet fabric, the fall with shell hinge covers, enclosing an arrangement of parcel gilt, bone and ebony decorated drawers and doors of architectral design with turned columns and gilt metal handles, the stained base with stop-fluted and spirally reeded columns and an arched and finial stretcher on plinth end supports, 152cm high x 46cm deep x 113cm wide (some worm, the cabinet possibly originally entirely fabric covered, lacking some mounts and metalwork, the base later)
