A Chinese coromandel lacquer cabinet, with an inscription dedicated to the Emperor Wanli, the doors panelled with figures, buildings and trees on a black ground, the top with flowers and antiques, on a shaped and pierced plinth, the interior incised with fans to the back board, the shelves with dragons and vases of flowers to the doors, 84cm x 84cm high, Wanli period. Provenance: Property of a Lady of Title.. The cabinet bears a contemporary inscription on the back with an article from ZhouZhuan describing events around the Zhou Dynasty in the Spring and Autumn period.Please note: This cabinet is NOT Wanli period but is of later date. The catalogue estimate is incorrect and should read 2000-3000.
