A set of four Victorian patinated cast iron, metal and glazed table lanterns, circa 1880, in Gothic style, each with six spiked finials above the hexagonal bodies, each side with arched windows with red glass panels flanked by projecting columns, on knopped hexagonal section stems, and conforming bases, 37cm high, and two hexagonal oak and embossed leather covered plinth bases. Provenance: Hilmarton Manor, Hilmarton, near Calne, Wiltshire.
A Chinese coromandel lacquer cabinet, with an inscription dedicated to the Emperor Wanli, the doors panelled with figures, buildings and trees on a black ground, the top with flowers and antiques, on a shaped and pierced plinth, the interior incised with fans to the back board, the shelves with dragons and vases of flowers to the doors, 84cm x 84cm high, Wanli period. Provenance: Property of a Lady of Title.. The cabinet bears a contemporary inscription on the back with an article from ZhouZhuan describing events around the Zhou Dynasty in the Spring and Autumn period.Please note: This cabinet is NOT Wanli period but is of later date. The catalogue estimate is incorrect and should read 2000-3000.
