A Victorian Oak Desk stamped Gillows, late 19th century, the moulded top over an arrangement of oak lined drawers with slotted recessed screws, the top drawer numbered 4231?, the brass locks stamped Gillows, raised on a plinth base, 122cm by 59cm by 73cmThe top is slightly faded and with various ring marks and fine splits (see images). With a dowel repair to the top suggesting possible superstructure? The doors are ink stained and a hole section of the back is later? The top section and left-hand end panel with natural? gaps between the boards. The front-left handle of the middle drawer is missing.

A German Silver Centrepiece, by Lazarus Posen Witwe, Frankfurt, Late 19th Century the bowl shaped oval, the sides with part-matted flutes, separated by husks, each side with a vacant cartouche surrounded by ribbon-tied oak leaf and acorn mantling, with a central plinth connected to the bowl by four flower husk and with a finial cast as two winged putto, all on spreading base with husk borders and foliage calyx45cm wide, 43cm high, 172oz 13dwt, 5,371grMarked on base with crown and moon standard mark and maker's mark. Further stamped 'Posen' and '800'. The marks are clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a minor softening to the high points. One fixing nut underneath is lacking. The bolt which fixes the finial in place has become detached from the finial and is currently held together by glue. One top fixing tab from one of the husks is detached so this husk is not securely attached to the body. Three of the fixing bolts are lacking from the swags. The cartouche on each side is erased and with some minor discolouration.
