A Victorian bronze model of a sphinx, raised on a marble plinth. Length 28 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The sphinx is in generally very good condition with no damage. The original patination is in generally good order however the surface to the back of the sphinx particularly above the leg opposite the tail is a little rubbed and matt. The marble base has had some repair. The right hand corner on the tail side has been broken and filled. The same edge has filled repairs in two places. The opposite side has a similar filled repair. There are further minor nibbles all along the bottom edge of the marble base.
An Art Deco bronze and ivory figure, lady, early 20th century, in the manner of Josef Lorenzl, the head tipped to one side and hands on hips, raised on a green onyx plinth, the retaining nut with monogram "S Co.". Height 17.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: In our opinion this is a period Art Deco piece. Viewed under a jewellers loupe there is a very fine hairline crack running from the centre parting of her hair down to her right eyelid. Viewed under a jewellers loupe the ivory surface of the head has numerous light scratches. All the high points on her torso, to include breasts, buttons, elbows and both borders on her skirt, her right knee, left heel and both buttons on her shoe are rubbed through to the bronze. However this in my opinion does not detract from the overall appearance and effect.
A patinated spelter figure, Great War soldier, early 20th century, modelled with his rifle held at hip height, indecipherable signature to rear and stamped "H Bergman", supported on an ebonised plinth with applied Swedish silver medallion inscribed "Pris Vid Faltskjutningar Vintern 1917-1918". Height of bronze 26 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This is patinated spelter and not bronze. There is a small scuff mark to the rear of his right arm and a small scuff mark to top of the rear of his right hand leg showing through to the base metal. Other than that there are no obvious visible faults to the figure. The ebonised base is slightly knocked and has a couple of scuff marks showing through to the wood.
An unusual mahogany tea caddy, early 19th century, rectangular, with crossbanded top and central carrying handle above two cupboard doors opening to reveal a fitted interior with two caddies flanking a central plush lined aperture, with sliding action and supported upon four bun feet. Width 32 cm, height 18.5 cm, depth 16 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The woodwork is in generally good condition. There is a very small loss to the crossbanded veneer at the right hand top rear corner. This is an old loss and in our opinion not significant. The doors are not warped. They close as they should. There are minor old stress fractures to the veneers on the doors but these are not problematic. The plinth moulding and feet are original. Both interior caddies are present and in good order. The glass jar is an incorrect later replacement. The baize lined interior is a little worn and discoloured. The handle and plate are original. We have the key.
A carved walnut bracket clock, late 19th century, with foliate and scale carved pediment above the rectangular brass dial embellished with fruits and vines, with silvered chapter ring beneath a regulating dial, eight day movement chiming on two gongs, lion mask oak leaf and acorn pilasters above a gadrooned foot and plinth base. Height 41.5 cm, width 29.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The movement is Lenzkirsh. The movement winds on both trains it is however dirty. The movement does strike when manually advanced and is ticking but only for a short period. We have the pendulum and a winding key. The case is structurally in very good condition with no losses to the carving or fretwork. The only real issue is that the two side grills are both missing. The face is in generally good order with only minor tarnishing to the silvering.
An early Victorian mahogany bookcase, the top half with moulded cornice above a pair of glazed doors, the base fitted with one drawer above a pair of panelled cupboard doors enclosing shelves. Width 84.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The dust board to the top of the cabinet above the cornice is loose. The cornice itself and crossbanded frieze are in good order. The left hand door closes as it should and the brass retaining mechanisms operate. There is a small loss just above the lock escutcheon on the outside edge. The right hand door is not warped. The lock is present but detached, we have the key. We cannot currently operate the lock. The sides of the top are in good order. The left hand side of the base is in good condition. Both doors close as they should and are not warped. There are no cracks to the doors. The right hand side of the base has numerous old marks and scuffs. The plinth base itself is in generally good order with only minor veneer nibbles. The interior tray is present as is the shelf.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany wardrobe, with detachable moulded cornice above a series of cupboards, drawers and mirror and raised on a plinth base. Width 160 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The width across the cornice is actually 160 cm, width across the front is 149 cm. The depth at the cornice is 56 cm. The depth of the side panels 50 cm.
A 19th century oak and walnut longcase clock, with square brass dial and two-train striking movement by John Clark. Height 217 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock hood is missing its top panel. There is no glass to the door. The hood is structurally otherwise sound. The trunk door is not warped and closes as it should. The sides of the trunk are in good condition. The base has a timber loss to the left hand side which should be evident from our image. The sides of the base are in good order. The base will probably have had a plinth at some point and now looks rather low. The dial is extremely dirty as is the movement. It appears complete. We have the pendulum but the metal suspension is missing. We have two weights. The movement and case are clearly a marriage. It is also a little odd to have a walnut veneered door on an oak case.
An Edwardian mahogany pedestal desk, the rectangular top with moulded edge above three frieze drawers with three further drawers to each pedestal. Width 153 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The green tooled leather writing surface is in generally good order. The gilding is rubbed and there are some minor surface marks but no significant issues with the leather. The surround is in generally good condition. Above the right hand top drawer there are four old dowelled repairs suggesting that the front right hand corner of the desk has lifted at some point. These are faint but visible. All drawer fronts are in good order. All locks are present. We have no keys. The side and back of the desk are all in good condition as is the plinth base.
A Victorian walnut marble topped credenza, with glazed centre door and raised on a plinth base. Width 121 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Width 121 cm, height 85.5 cm, depth at deepest point 39 cm. The marble top is in generally good order with no losses or cracks. There are numerous old scuffs and marks and slight staining but no significant problems. The backboards are original and in good order. The piece is structurally sound. The frieze is in generally good condition with no losses. The centre door is not warped. The mirror is in generally good order. The side doors close as they should with no warping. We have keys. All locks do operate but not particularly easily. All doors are in good condition from a veneer point of view as is the base. Being a Victorian piece of furniture there are surface marks and scratches but no significant condition issues. The interior shelves are all a little tatty, marked and scuffed.
A cast iron hunting dog group, raised on a rectangular plinth. Height to top of tail 81 cm, length of plinth 88 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The dog group is in generally good condition. The mark on the dog's left front leg is simply a rust mark. There are no breaks. Any imperfections are simply casting marks. Both dogs have rusty areas and the plinth is also rusty as one would expect. Some of the paint is lifting in areas.
A Georgian mahogany breakfront bookcase/estate cabinet, with detachable moulded cornice above a pair of glazed doors enclosing a series of pigeonholes and drawers and flanked on either side by a further glazed cupboard, the base fitted with drawers and cupboards and all raised on a plinth. Height 200 cm, width 182 cm, depth at deepest point 67.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This bookcase is very good quality and in very original untouched, unrestored condition. It is basically a very good colour and is structurally very sound but does require work. The cornice has a missing section to the right hand return moulding. When looking at the piece from the side the cornice and rear section of the base and the bottom return moulding have been removed in order to fit the bookcase into an alcove. The left hand side has a small loss to the bottom edge of the cornice. The sides of the top and the base are in generally good order. The ebonised return moulding which runs below the doors is missing on the left hand side. It is also missing on the right hand side. The left hand door has one pane of cracked glass. The door is not warped. The right hand door is not warped. The left hand door of the centre section shuts as it should and the retaining locks operate correctly. The right hand door has a slight warp at the top but not significantly. The interior trays and drawers to the upper section appear to be complete and in generally good order. The top of the base has numerous old ring and watermarks. The base drawers are all in generally good condition with only surface scuffs and scratches. The centre panelled doors close as they should and are not warped. The centre mahogany edging strip has losses. The plinth base is scuffed and marked. There should have been three interior shelves to the base cupboard there is only one. The backboards are original.
A Victorian mahogany sideboard, fitted with three frieze drawers above an inverted breakfront with three cupboard doors flanked by corbals and raised on a plinth base. Width 121 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally good order. The top is flat with no veneer splits. The crossbanded edge is in generally good condition with only very minor marks. Width 102 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The back is two rectangular stained pine panels. The condition of the piece is generally good with only very minor scuffs and marks. There are no significant losses. The left and right plinth corners are knocked and scuffed as one would expect. The left hand corner being in the poorest condition. The shelf depth is 20 cm.
A Victorian mahogany open bookcase, with rear pediment, adjustable shelves and fitted with two drawers to the plinth base. Width 97.5 cm, height 165 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top has a 13 cm diagonal split to the centre and to the left of this there is 6 cm of what looks like a stain drip. There are four small indents to the rear of the top and a further six indents to the front. There is a small section of veneer missing to the rear left side and rear left front of the top. A small section of veneer is missing to the rear right side of the top. The right hand side has a raised panel beneath the bookcase top of which there is a small splice of veneer missing at the rear. The left hand side has a 11 cm vertical age split and a 7 cm horizontal split. The moulding at the base of the left hand side has a full length split and the veneer has been replaced. The right hand side base moulding has small sections of veneer missing and a strip of veneer has been replaced. The front of the right hand side bracket foot has a 3 cm x 2.5 cm splice missing. There are small knocks to the moulding at the base of the bookcase, a 10 cm split to the right hand side of the moulding and a 6 cm split to the left hand side. There have been corbals to the top and bottom of each pilaster which are now missing and attachment holes have been filled and polished. This is most likely to have been a display cabinet at some time in its life as there are filled patches evident where a hinge may have sat. However given all these faults this is a clean piece of furniture ready for use.
A Victorian walnut dressing table, with centre cheval mirror, raised on a plinth base. Width 127 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The pediment has had an old break to the left hand side of the middle scroll. There are no losses however. The mirror frame is in generally good order with only minor stress fractures to the veneers in places. The mirror plate is serviceable but beginning to show some signs of silvering. The scroll supports are both in good order. All drawer fronts are in good condition. The left and right hand doors are in good order and not warped. The left hand door has a missing lock escutcheon. The lock operates. The right hand door locks also. The sides of the top of the wardrobe are in very good order with no cracks or significant marks. The sides of the base are a little lighter in colour and have more marks and scuffs than the top. The base drawers all have sections of cockbeading missing or nibbled. All handles are present but are later replacements. There are very faint marks where the slightly larger original handles have been. The breakfront base is a little scuffed and marked. The right hand return to the centre section is detached but we do have the piece. There is a small section of veneer missing to the right hand side of the bottom right hand drawer. There is a small missing section to the front left hand corner and further nibbles to the top left rear. The doors are both well figured. They close as they should. When the right door is locked there is a very slight warp visible between the centre edge moulding and the left hand door at the top. This is only visible when carefully inspected from the side. In our opinion this is not problematic. All interior trays are present. They are all a little marked and scuffed. The sides of the top are in good condition with no splits or stress fractures. The sides of the base are in similarly good order. The drawer fronts are also in generally good condition. The top right hand drawer has a small veneer loss to the bottom left hand corner. This is the only loss to the drawer fronts. All handles are original and present. All brass lock escutcheons are present. The plinth base is in good condition with no issues other than one small paint mark and minor scratches. The polish is original and the piece is a uniform good colour.

All of the scrolling mouldings are in good condition. The trunk door is not significantly warped and closes as it should. We have the key. The plinth which as stated appears to be from a different case is also in good order with no condition issues.
