(JAMES) WOOLLEY OF CODNOR (DERBYSHIRE); an 18th century oak cased eight day longcase clock, the brass dial with applied chapter ring bearing Arabic and Roman numerals with applied pierced detail depicting cherubs and crowns to the corners, the hood with blind fret panel to the cornice, raised on plinth base, height 196cm.Additional InformationComplete with pendulum and weights. The dial is approx. 28.5cm/11.22" wide. The chapter ring diameter is 26cm. There is a repair to the top of the dial (see additional images). Old worm holes to the gilt sections of the columns and with losses to the gesso. One of the carved and gilt corner blocks at the back is lacking. The door has a crack to the top. The hinges and lock are not original. The sides of the back board are later timber and other later timbers in the construction. Some losses to the blind fret of the hood at both corners. Other general age wear throughout.

An Edwardian oak bank of sixteen short drawers, each with cusped handles, enclosing various tools and accessories, height 122cm, width 61cm, depth 45.5cm.Additional InformationGrubby throughout with the front part of the plinth base lacking. The right hand plinth section is loose. Cusped handled discoloured throughout. Old worm holes to the right hand side which has been treated but may need additional attention. The piece is in ‘barn find’ condition and will need attention to fix the base, clean etc. The drawers are dovetailed.

The lower section of the back panel is a modern replacement in engineered board. Some small losses to the veneer to the bottom right hand corner of the left drawer and in four other areas of the front of the piece, other general age wear throughout consistent with age, but overall appearance fair.

Top with an old crack to the front left which extends in to about half of the length. Grubby throughout and will need cleaning. General age wear patina of scuffs and scratches throughout consistent with age and having been stored in an attic.

A William IV carved mahogany break front cupboard with moulded corners above three panelled doors inset with gilt brass grills, each door enclosing adjustable shelves, on plinth base, height 171cm, width 159cm, depth approx 54cm.Additional InformationWear to the central door where it catches against the handle of the right door. The bottom left front corner of the base with heavy wear, where it has constantly been knocked over a period of years. The brass grills with general tarnishing and dulling. Some small chips here and there to the panelling behind the brass grills. General age wear throughout, with expected scuffs and scratches consistent with age. The panels behind the grills have some wear at the edges. This is a 19th century piece.
