A finely worked Sculpture, a faithful almost exact copy of the famous work ''Venus de Milo'' at the Louvre Gallery, Paris, 33 3/4'' tall (83.2 cm), signed 'P. Bazzanti, Florence'. Pietro Bazzanti was a prominent and highly regarded sculptor in the late 1800's, his Florence studio is nowadays known as the Bazzanti Art Gallery having originated in 1822. The signature which the work bears to it's plinth has the English rendition of the city's name and it may accordingly be confirmed that the work was commissioned or at least produced for the English market. The producing of such an accurate representation of the original must surely have involved numerous hours of sketching and note taking in preparation. Some slight abrasions/bruising.
