Some movement to fixing pins join each terrapin to one another. No signs of serious loss or damage. There is a rear claw to the one foot missing. Some fading to base with has a crack and some warping. Losses and damage to fret cut apron on two sides. Some glued elements.

Some rubbing and oxidation to right group. The left group has richer patination.

No key present. Platform appears to be original Movement winds but does not run, but repeater appears to be working

Winding key present. Case would benefit from cleaning. Leather case with scuffing, lacking carrying strap.

A late 19th century French ormolu and Limoges enamel panelled repeater carriage clock with alarm 2.5" diameter white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and minute track, subsidiary alarm dial, blued steel hands, silvered engine turned mask engraved with flowers, 8 day movement with passing striking on a coiled gong, platform escapement with compensated balance, the backplate numbered 1083, the case with ribbed carrying handle over bevelled inspection panel, stepped cornice and dentil moulded frieze supported by three quarter Corinthian column, the sides with Limoges panels painted 'en grisaille' with putti in drapery, one brandishing a sword and blowing a horn the other a laurel wreath and a reed, on a moulded plinth base, with leather travel case Height 20.5cm.Condition: Winding key present. Winds ticks and runs and repeat function and alarm seem to be functional however no guarantee can be offered as to the full working order. Platform replaced. Area with impact bruise bottom right hand corner of Limoges panel with a putto holding a laurel wreath, no significant loses but radial hairlines, only visible on close inspection. Some wear rubbing to case on edges and leather case in fair condition but leather strap has torn through. Cellotape has has been placed over silk hinges of case lid which have worn through.
