Louis Vidal (1831-1892) French gilt bronze clock garniture of large proportions, modelled in the neo classical style. The drum head clock is surmounted by a Greek Goddess and is supported by two Pegasus being ridden by putti and raised on a carved alabaster plinth mounted with swags and roundels on pad feet housing an eight day movement, chiming half hourly on a bell. The pair of accompanying eight branch candelabra formed as cornucopia supported by dancing cherubs and raised over fluted alabaster column plinth, adorned with floral swags and husk wreaths. Signed Vidal to the dial and works, clock 21.5 high."
