An Edward VII Silver and Enamel Trophy, by T. and J. Bragg Ltd., Birmingham, 1906, the central section formed as a compressed baluster base from which rises a vase shaped stem, with four Yorkshire Rose cast buttresses and with a female figure finial, the base supported on four cast badges of the National Fire Brigades Yorkshire District, one side engraved with an inscription dated 1906, the other chased with a fire-fighting scene, with scroll arches each incorporating the Yorkshire rose and with an enamelled coat-arms, all on an ebonised plinth, applied with various silver or metal plaques, variously engraved for fire brigades, including Rolls-Royce, Brook Motors Ltd, Rowntree and Co. and others, with fitted oak box, the plinth of the trophy 63cm wideThe inscription reads: 'Presented by the President The Right Hon The Earl of Londesborough 1906.'The arms are those of William Frances Henry Denison, 2nd Earl of Londesborough (1864-1917) and those of the North Riding of Yorkshire.

Son and successor of John Allen, admitted Freeman of the Upholders Co by Patrimony on 7th May 1800, for a brief period traded from his father's address at 50 Fenchurch Street, but by 1802 was at number 158. Subscribed to Sheraton's Cabinet Dictionary 1803, maintained a carpet and paper hanging warehouse and acted as auctioneer, appraiser and undertaker, trade card in BM. See Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, pg.9Condition report: . Depth of the shelves on the upper section 40.5cm, middle section top shelf 41cm, larger shelf 45cm. In good condition throughout, fairly uniform colour throughout, right hand panels with small split, the upper left and right panel have screw marks (see images). Right-hand base drawer with minor fault to cock beading, central cupboard doors with minor gap at base section, general scuffs to moulding also on the doors.
