A rare vintage Stuart live steam ' Double 10 ' model engine. Copper pipes and black 'S' endplate. Approx 15cm tall. Built by the vendor's husband, and always very well maintained. Kept on display inside a cabinet, being regularly oiled. The engine still moves freely and works as it should. Comes with a mahogany display plinth. Provenance: Built by the vendor's husband, this engine won first prize in The Society Of Model & Experimental Engineers show in London, 1971. The builder's medal is also included within this lot. Built during the gentleman's time performing in the West End show ' Hello Dolly ' where he played head waiter. With a wide skill set, he also made the mahogany plinth the engine sits on. A rare engine, with a charming history.
Fine pair of Barr Flight & Barr Campana shaped vases, each with gilt entwined serpent handles & gilt rim against pale blue panels painted with clusters of flowers & scattered flowerheads, simulated pearl band & gilt decorated body below, on baluster column & marbled square plinth base, inscribed "Barr Flight & Barr, Worcester, London House, 1 Coventry Street", c.1810, each 16cm high.
