A Victorian walnut display cabinet, decorated with gilt metal, with glazed door opening to reveal three shelves, on a plinth base, 111 cm high x 86 cm wide x 34 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: All metalwork attached, some veneer missing to edge of base, natural split to right hand side, general dents and marks throughout, internal glass trim possibly newer.
A William IV burr satinwood chiffonier, the superstructure with shelf and scrolling support, above two doors inset with pleated silk panels, opening to two drawer interior, raised on plinth base, 121 cm high, 109 cm wide, 35 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: Old worn in scratches throughout, heavier to base. Small area of varnish worn to top left hand side. Trim missing to frieze on left hand side. Some threading to upholstered door panels. Lock operational, but doors have become slightly separated. Two internal mahogany draws in good condition, shelving possibly missing.
Gas fired horizontal steam plant accessories suitable for finishing/re-assembly, the lot comprises of a horizontal gas fired mill engine, with single cylinder powering a heavy 4" fly wheel, finished to a good standard with easy access to intake and oil chamber/valves. Sold with a large horizontal copper and brass boiler raised on brick work plinth, finished to a good standard with expected fittings, and is accompanied with a large electric dynamo with light fitting and a brass and copper water tank.
Ernst Plank, Germany, rare steam plant comprising twin cylinder table engine with integral boiler, the twin vertical fixed cylinders are mounted on a cast, half 'A' frame with steam chest between them, the attached entablature is also supported by 2 turned pillars and has a dummy capstan type reversing wheel, a gallery rail, and two stepladders. The cylinders drive a crankshaft with 3.5 inch flywheel and slip eccentrics to valve rods, crankshaft bearings both have lubricators. Steam is supplied from a horizontal brass boiler on steel plinth, usual fittings and large 2 wick vapourising burner, looks original, with some repairs. Tall chimney, all on tinplate base. A tin condenser marked Sphinx has been added as has a cast hand water pump. EP oval plaque on boiler plinth. Base 12"x 15.25". 18.5" to chimney top. Doll made a very similar plant circa 1920. Pressure gauge is marked EP on our model. This style of engine is rarely seen and appears complete. Engine in very good condition. The base and boiler are fair, chimney is good for age.
A late Victorian black slate and spelter figural mantel clock, having figure with tools to the top above black enamel and malachite coloured circular dial, raised on shaped base, 52cm high CONDITION REPORT: Lot 268 - Small chips to edges of plinth base, spelter in good condition, old dents and repair to barrel where branch of tree joins, mechanism untested.
A modern stuffed and mounted Light Sussex Cockerel on an oak plinth base, bears label "M J Ball Taxidermist" CONDITION REPORTS Height approx. 52 cm including wooden plinth base, length approx. 45 cm including tail feather. Overall with some ruffling to feathers and a little dust, but generally appears in reasonably good order.
A greyhound figure group, raised on naturalistic rock and foliage covered base to a burr walnut effect plinth, bears indistinct inscription CONDITION REPORTS Length approx. 61 cm, height approx. 31 cm including plinth. Overall with some general wear, scuffs and some small nicks to edges, small splits to foliage, appears to be made of a resin-type material.
