Peter Spicer: A George III style burr walnut and satinwood strung neoclassical style urn and cover, of vase form, on square plinth base, the cover with turned knop and gilt brass finial. 43cm high. Notes Peter Spicer was born in Folkestone in 1930 where he lived until the evacuation of Dunkirk when his family moved to Tunbridge Wells. As a boy he went to watch his fathers friends at work, many of whom were craftsmen in various branches of woodwork. It was in their workshops that he learnt his woodworking skills, during this period, he has access to antique furniture and the restoration of antiques. On examining these items, he was often disappointed in the standard of workmanship in the backs, interiors and bottoms. He decided that whatever he made in the future would be of the same standard of workmanship and finish throughout. After National Service, he established a workshop at his home in Tunbridge Wells where he made many items to furnish his own home and for exhibition and competition. He gained many awards, gold and silver medals and prizes at National level for his work. Spicer studied music and violin playing and was able to combine this with his love of woodwork, for many years he was in demand as a repairer and restorer of old and valuable instruments of the string family. For more than twenty five years he cared for the stringed instruments of of The Royal Marines musicians on the Royal yacht Britannia.
A George III mahogany eight day longcase clock. The 12" square plain brass dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, minute track signed William Gill, Hastings. Eight day bell striking five pillar movement, the hood with projecting moulded cornice over a glazed door flanked by a pair of three quarter engaged pilasters with gilt capitals over a trunk with long door on box base, raised on plinth with pendulum, weights and key. 205cm high.

Stuart Turner 'Williamson' model of a live steam barn engine, this model by Tubal Cain is a replica of a vertical engine made in the last century by the Kendal firm of Williamson Brothers, comprising of single vertical cylinder with 5/8 inch bore by 1 1/8th inch stroke, spoked flywheel, open crank and guide set in a metal reeded column, eccentric operated steam valve and fitted ball speed governor, the model is finished in green and base metal, raised on wooden plinth, height 31cm
A very rare Ernst Plank German hot air engine, early 20th century vertical design and example, having an air cooled single cylinder with oiler cup to side supported cast and turned supports, with crank, crank guard with red and gold paintwork, fitted with oiler cups, eccentric driven flame licker valve, no burner, fitted with a 16cm diameter spoked flywheel with small grooved belt pulley, finished in original paint work with Ernst Plank trade transfer below crank guard, raised on wooden plinth, to measure 17cm x 16cm, 29cm high.

A pine two door wardrobe with three drawers, on plinth base CONDITION REPORTS Size approx 99cm wide x 194cm high. Overall with wear, scuffs. Some loose sections. Quite a lot of dirt and deposits, particularly to the interior. Drawer runners may need some attention. Various knocks and chips throughout.
