A presentation Regimental silver menu card holder, The Gordon Highlanders, by Thomas Ebbutt, Edinburgh 1947, modelled as the regimental badge, on a wooden plinth, with a presentation plaque inscribed 'Presented to Capt. J.E. Cullen OBE by the 2nd Bn. for many happy voyages', length 6.5cm. Formed in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 75th and 92nd Regiments of Foot. In 1994, the Regiment amalgamated with the Queen's Own Highlanders to form the Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons).
An Edwardian silver two-handled bowl, by the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, London 1906, oval bellied form, with winged female caryatid scroll handles, the body embossed with cherubs and foliate scroll decoration on a matted background, foliate border, on four pierced bracket feet, on a shaped oval wooden plinth, length handle to handle 22cm, height on plinth 17.7cm, approx. weight 20.7oz.
Victorian oak open bookcase, the top with moulded edge, three adjustable shelves, plinth base, width 136cm, depth 32cm, height 123cm.Condition report:The back has all the plannks, the planks to one side are starting to seperate. The shelves are sratched and marks, the sides are also quite scrached and marked.
Welsh mixed wood longcase lock, the hood with swan neck pediment, turned spindles, the case with short door, plinth base, thirteen inch arched painted dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, eight day movement striking on a bell, height 214cm, with pendulum and two weights.Condition report:There is loss and cracking to the veneer to the base edges. The main body has some chipping and scraching to the edges and corners. The book has some slight cracking to veneer in places, and some chipping to the bottom rim edge. The face is rummbed, the roman numerals have some paint loss. The surface of the paint is bubbled and flaking to the to bottom left corner. There is light crazing to most of the face. It is sold as untested. It comes with pendulim (detached end) and two wieghts, but no key for the front door.
