An Edwardian satinwood and painted drop-centre wardrobe, the central section set with five drawers flanked by twin cupboard doors with broken arch pediments above musical instrument and floral swag painted panels, on an invert break-front plinth base, width approx 223cm. CONDITION REPORT: Heavy wear throughout. Scratches to decoration, heavy knocks and veneer loss to the plinth base. It should have had something on top of the central section as this has a very rough finish which should be covered up.

Gody & C.ie a Besançon", lunette godronate, fondello decorato con smalti champlevé e leggermente a rilievo nella decorazione centrale con elaborata raffigurazione di foglie d’acanto e due colombe che incoronano un busto di donna, con quest'ultimo sorretto da un plinto composto da rosette. Catena snodabile laminata in oro e decorata con paste di vetro colorate a forma di cuore. Quadrante in smalto a fondo grigio, numeri romani a carattere bianco per le ore e arabi per la minuteria, decorazione centrale con figura di colomba e fiori. Lancette ornate da rosette. Meccanica a ponti separati, nichelata e rifinita con lavorazione ad “anglage", firmata "J.B. Gody & C.ie", scappamento ad ancora, bilanciere bimetallico con viti, spirale Breguet. Gold plated jointed chain with hearth shaped colored vitreous pastes. Enamel dial with grey background, Roman hour numerals and Arabic 5-minute markers, central decoration with a dove and flowers. Hands garnished with rosette. Nickel finished, pattern decorated, beveled bridge movement, signed "J.B. Gody & C.ie", lever escapement, bimetallic balancer with screws, Breguet hairspring.
