He studied sculpture there, and then in Milan. His brother Giovanni Battista was already an established sculptor and he followed his brother to Milan and then Rome. They shared a studio and produced high quality busts, funerary monuments and statues. He then began to move away from religious subjects and started to specialise in animal sculpture. This model of a Goat and Kid was exhibited as a marble group at the 1865 International Exhibition in Dublin and also the 1867 Paris Exposition Universelle where Lombardi was awarded the Grand Prix d'Honneur . Two life-size white marble models of this group are known; one is in a private Italian collection, the other is on display at the Sefton Park Palm House in Liverpool.

Fiore de Henriquez (Italian/British 1921-2004), stylised bronze bust, mounted on a wood plinth. Overall width 28 cm, height 41 cm, signed and dated 75. NOTE - Her debut exhibition held in Florence 1947 and following her move to Britain she exhibited at The Royal Academy in 1950. She produced work to commemorate The Festival of Britain and spent many years touring North America working and lecturing. One of her biggest achievements was a restoration of the abandoned Italian settlement of Peralta. In 1968 she began restoring the village with the local and surrounding inhabitants supplying all parts and labour. Peralta became a well known retreat for artists (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This item is from a deceased estate and the deceased was a personal friend of the artist. The deceased's father was the Head of Geriatrics at Whitehaven Hospital for which Fiore De Heneriquez undertook a commission to produce a bust for the Hospital Trust. The vendor has also provided but not include with the sale an exhibition catalogue for the artist dated 11-27 November 1975 at the Centro D'art La Barcaccia which highlights the sculptures in the same style as the one on offer. There is also a printed card advertising a lone portrait sculpture exhibition at 25 Cheyne Walk, London September 22nd-October 2nd 1975. The sculpture itself is approximately 26 cm high and 16 cm across. From the attached images you should be able to see that the item is signed and dated 75.
A George III carved oak table box, the top carved with stylised Prince of Wales plumes, the interior with a small candle box, with side carrying handles, all on a plinth base. 38 cm wide, 17 cm high, 23 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: Generally in good order throughout with good patination. The lock does have a key but whilst it turns the catches do not engage. The interior diameter and not including the candle box 28.3 cm wide x 19 cm deep and to include the candle box it is 34 cm wide. The hinges are in good order and everything works as it should with the exception of the lock. On the plinth base there have been some small homemade bun feet applied which are not visible until you turn it over. All in all a nice little box.
A brass Palladian Congreve rolling ball timepiece, 20th century, by Rodney Jackson of Chronos, made to private commission, with a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals within a gold plated brass case on a stepped marble base and mahogany plinth with drawer, all beneath a glass and brass display case and with a further protective wooden outer case, with associated paperwork and certificates. Height 36 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This has come from a local private client in the process of down sizing. It was made locally in Cockermouth and is probably from a Limited Edition of 20. It is in clean order throughout with no obvious faults. Comes with a protective box of which the stand has adjustable feet and a single drawer housing information regarding the clock. There is also a further separate white marble plinth. There is no reason why the clock isn't working however it may need to be set up professionally.
A Regency mahogany chiffonier, with shelved upper section, three quarter blind gallery above graduated shelves with lyre shaped supports, the base with pierced brass grille doors with ebony stringing flanked to either side by cast brass mounted Egyptian figural monopodia and with plinth base beneath. Width 120.5 cm, height 188.5 cm, depth 33.5 cm.
