A club fender, with leather upholstered corners, painted metal supports and oak plinth base. Internal measurement 208 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The fender is structurally very sound with no significant condition issues. The leather panels are in good order with no perforations or significant scratching or scuffing. The supports are in good order. The oak base is also in good condition with only one very small surface scuff to the left hand front corner edge. This is a very minor issue.
A Victorian mahogany bookcase, with moulded cornice above a pair of arched glazed doors enclosing shelves and flanked by turned columns, the base fitted with a drawer above a pair of panelled cupboard doors and raised on a plinth with short bun feet. Width 128 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This bookcase is in generally extremely good condition. It has a very good colour. The cornice is in good order. The doors are not warped and close as they should. We have the key. All shelves are present. The base is in very good condition and again of very good colour. The sides are in good order and there are no splits. The feet are original. There is no evidence of any repairs or woodworm. The piece could be used or resold in its current condition.
An oak longcase clock, with carved case inscribed "Use Time Wisely" and with silvered brass dial and two-train striking movement and with foliate and scroll carved case. CONDITION REPORT: The clock hood is in generally god condition with no significant issues. There is a small section of mahogany crossbanding missing to the left hand bottom corner of the glazed door. The silvered brass dial is dirty and the silvering worn. The movement although dirty is ticking and striking as it should. The seatboard is not original. The trunk door is not warped. It also has a small veneer loss to the bottom left hand corner. We have the weights and pendulum. The plinth to the base is detached. We are missing the plain section of left hand return moulding.
A Victorian mahogany gentleman's wardrobe, with moulded cornice above a pair of panelled doors, the base fitted with two short and one long drawer with wooden knob handles and raised on short turned feet. Width 132 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cornice is in good condition. Both doors are a little warped but not significantly. Both door panels are a little dry and have surface scuffs and scratches. We do not have a key for the lock. The interior trays are missing and the piece has been converted to hanging space. The right hand side has two later coat hooks and the door appears to have been off at some point as there are repairs around all three hinges. The left hand side has holes where coat hooks have been. It is also scratched and scuffed. The top two base drawers are generally in good condition. The bottom drawer has some pieces of cockbeading missing and there are small veneer losses on the runners between. The side panels of the base are a little scuffed but in generally good condition. The plinth and feet are original. The piece is structurally sound. The cornice is fixed but the upper section lifts apart at the bottom of the door. The doors can be removed. The height of the top section is 123 cm. Depth 62 cm. Width across cornice 131 cm. Base dimensions depth 60 cm, height including feet 66 cm, width at widest point 130 cm.
A late 19th century Continental oak settle, with carved and spindled tall back, scroll arms and lift up seat, panelled front and plinth base. Width 112 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The rear pediment is in good condition. The top rail has at the rear evidence of old long gone woodworm. This is only evident at the top and back and not visible from the front of the piece. The woodworm is only on the top rail. The rear panels are in good condition and the colour is good also. The arms are in good order as is the box seat. There are some minor areas of old woodworm on the rear supports and seat but this has long gone and is in our opinion not problematic. The plinth base is in generally good order with minor surface scuffs and scratches as one would expect.
A Victorian walnut Sutherland table, with rounded corners, fitted with a frieze drawer and raised on turned legs terminating in castors. Width 91 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table top is in generally very good condition with no issues. It is a good colour. Both flaps are equally in good order and are not warped. The frieze is in good condition. The oak lined drawer is also in good order. The legs are all original and in good condition. All castors are original. One is a little loose. There is no evidence of any woodworm and we can see no evidence of any restoration. The rear pediment is in good condition. The top rail has at the rear evidence of old long gone woodworm. This is only evident at the top and back and not visible from the front of the piece. The woodworm is only on the top rail. The rear panels are in good condition and the colour is good also. The arms are in good order as is the box seat. There are some minor areas of old woodworm on the rear supports and seat but this has long gone and is in our opinion not problematic. A George III mahogany press, with moulded dentil cornice above a pair of panelled cupboard doors enclosing shelves, the base fitted with a series of six drawers with original brass drop handles and lock escutcheons and with cockbeading to each drawer front and raised on a plinth base. Width 130 cm.
An Edwardian mahogany low bookcase, with moulded edge above four open shelves and with series of cupboards beneath. Width 163 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top is in good original condition. There are no significant marks, scuffs or damage. The shelves are fixed. The side panels are in good condition with no splits. All cupboard doors are flat and not warped and all close as they should. The plinth base is in generally good condition and the back is original.
A late 19th/early 20th century walnut Arts & Crafts wardrobe, with moulded cornice above a pair of panelled cupboard doors, the upper panels carved and opening to hanging space, trays and drawers and raised on a plinth base. Width across cornice 194 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The wardrobe is in generally good condition. The cornice is in good order with only minor scuffs and marks as one would expect. The side panels are both in good condition with no significant issues. There are the usual minor surface marks as one would expect. The plinth has the usual scuffs around the corners but again no significant problems. Neither door is significantly warped. The left hand door is missing the two catches top and bottom which secure the door to the cornice and base. There is also one section of panel beading damaged but present on the inside. The right had door is also in generally good condition. The interior tray and drawers are all present. Beneath the doors there should be a think sliver of timber which fits beneath the bottom of the door and the plinth. 75% of this small narrow 1” section of timber is missing. It has probably been broken and lost during transportation at some point. Generally speaking the wardrobe is in good order but will need correctly screwing together and possibly this section of timber replacing along the front of the plinth.
A George III Lancashire mahogany and crossbanded chest of drawers, with two short and three long drawers with brass drop handles with pierced backplates and cockbeading to each drawer front. Width 111 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 86 cm, depth 55 cm, width 110 cm. The top is flat and has no splits. It does have numerous scratches, scuffs and watermarks. The crossbanded edge is in good condition at the front but the left hand canted mould on both sides is loose. There is also a crack to the top of the rear of the right hand return moulding and some small timber losses. The sides of the chest are in generally good condition. The right hand side has a slight split down one plank join. The handles are later replacements. The piece will have originally have had brass swans neck drop handles. These were converted to knob handles at some point and the pierced backplates now covers the knob handle holes. The cockbeading on the top two drawers is in generally good condition. Drawer three has a missing section to the left hand side and some water staining. Drawer four has small nibbles to the cockbeading. The plinth moulding is in good condition. The back of the chest has been replaced with a hardboard panel. The bracket feet are original and solid but appear to have been reduced in height.
