A composite suit of light field armour in the mid 16th century Italian style, comprising close helmet with hinged visor, breast and back plates, gorget, vambraces, pauldrons and gauntlets, and knee length tassets, all etched with bands of scrolled foliate decoration; the breastplate also etched with praying figure and crucifix, the pauldrons with roped edges and etched with unicorns and stylised mythical bird, the breastplate of thin construction with roped edges, the backplate of more substantial construction with plain edges, the rear skirt with roped lower edge. Basically GC (some parts worn through and patched, particularly the breastplate, elbow cops and edges of the tassets, most fingers missing from the gauntlets, some parts, including the helmet, good old replacements), mounted on a wooden stand with rectangular plinth.
