Valentino Panciera Besarel (Italian, 1829-1902), a fine pair of carved fruitwood (possibly lime?) Cherubic Figures, both winged Cherubs of plump form with one carrying a lyre and both raised upon an integral tapering fluted socle terminating in an octagonal plinth base; both signed and stamped 'V. Besarel Venezia' and marked in ink to the underside April 1897; one Cherub with hand now away (clean break) and end of baton in right hand now missing, each of very fine quality and patination and approx. 37cm high, Valentino Besarel was born in Zoldo, near Bellune which is the home town of the 17th Century Master Carver Andrea Brustolon (1662-1732). The Besarel family had been wood carvers for generations having achieved some fame with carving in local churches. After training with his father Valentino studied under Belluno Antonio Federici. He established himself in Venice in the 1860s where he opened an atelier and shop. He soon distinguished himself as a creator of exquisite sculpture and furniture for wealthy private patrons and the Royal Courts receiving commissions from clients such as Edward Prince of Wales, the British Consul Layard and the Kindg of Italy. Valentine exhibited at the 1878 Paris Universelle Exposition, where he won a gold medal, and the churches of Este and Conselve, near Padua contain many groups of saints carved by this Artist CONDITION REPORT: Carved fruitwood (possibly lime?), may even be boxwood - sorry not sure.
A late 19th/early 20th Century mahogany Pedestal Desk, the three gilt tooled leather pieces above an arrangement of nine drawers, raised on plinth base, 135cm wide x 83cm CONDITION REPORT: Upon close inspection we think the desk is probably early to mid 20th Century, in very good general overall condition, the drawers are oak lined, appears evidence of other handles to the lower six drawers although the top three drawers appear to be retaining the original handles which the lower six drawers also have, there is evidence of minor scuffing to three green inset leather skiver's, there is also minor scratches to top of desk, overall the desk is in a generally good condition and is presentable.
A pair of 19th century bronze mounted black slate Classical Urns surmounted on square stepped bases, 29cm high, (2) CONDITION REPORT: Generally very good original condition with minor chipping to the bottom of plinth bases, the urns themselves are a nice dark and dull bronze colour, condition generally very good overall.

Interesting and rare Squelette ormolu and white marble pedestal timepiece, the 5.25" white chapter ring enclosing a skeletonised centre signed Vandersteen á Paris upon an ormolu support engraved with a foliate band between beaded and gadrooned borders, the twenty-eight day movement with recoil escapement and gridiron knife edge suspended pendulum, upon a cylindrical stepped white marble pedestal and square plinth base, 14.5" high
Good brass Congreve style triple dial fusee clock, inscribed 'Fell for Dent No. 042 del 1974', the substantial movement supported upon circular tapering columns to the rectangular stepped plinth base, also upon a mahogany board and green marble base, 19" wide (with winding key and ball, but lacks glass housing)
