Adapted to allow for a modern display stand.notes from the vendor: This was bought from a Norfolk based dealer (specialising in medieval and a few antiquities) who in turn bought it from a local collector, sadly not sure exactly where it was found, certainly the type of stone, flint makes sense, and the story which came along with it also seemed very plausible, the type of item which would be found in a ‘pit’ no other info sadly, it was suggested at some stage, that the eye may have been re-carved but this is a suggestion only

A gilt metal mantel clock with painted porcelain dial and plaques, the case cast with swags and laurel wreathes, surmounted with cast cherubs, on ebonsied wooden oval plinth, clock height 32cm.Condition report:The clcok ticks for a very short while but then stops, so this is not fully working, the bell appears to be working. The clock is late 19th century early 20th.
Victorian white painted three piece bedroom suite, including wardrobe, moulded cornice, mirrored door enclosing a hanging rail, plinth base, width 117cm, depth 58cm, height 203cm, dressing table with circular mirror, kneehole with three drawers and chest of drawers fitted with two short and three long drawers, plinth base.Qty: 3Condition report:Dressing table: width 99cm, depth 53cm, height 153cm. Quite crudely painted and the paint is beginning to flake to the top surface and to the compartments flanking the mirror base. Some historic losses tot he ribbon and also to the blocks of the mirror stand. Wardrobe: A heavy paint loss half way up the right hand front corenr edge. Other patches of paint flaking througout. Some splitting to the side panels. The door is a little stiff but it does close. The front of the plinth looks to have come away and been re-atteched.Drawers: width 106cm, depth 54cm, height 106cm. Some natural splitting to the sides. Front of the plinth looks to have been repaired. Some paint flaking. Drawers are all sound. Some splits extending from the dies of the top.

There is some rubbing to the base. There is some loss of edging to the drawers. There is an indentation to each drawer behind the handle. There is some rubbing and discolouration to the edge of the desk. The leather inlays are scratched and stained. The drawers and drawer bases are good. Please see additional uploaded images.
