After Antoine-Louis Barye (1796-1875) a large and impressive 20th century brown patinated bronze steeplechase group, modelled with two horses jumping and one fallen, on a rounded oblong step-moulded base bearing cast signature 'Barye' and further veined black marble plinth 61cm x 62xm in good condition with some minor wear and slight bending to reins.

Ca. 800 - 700 BC.A rare Greek Geometric period bronze horse standing on an integral shallow bronze plinth. Depicted in a stylised manner, this horse features a narrow tubular body; elongated tail and legs. The thin neck has a sharp broad mane crest, the head with short upturned ears and a long cylindrical muzzle. For similar see: Christie's live auction 2565 antiquities, Lot. 61. Thomas Fletcher of Gateshead (Tyne-and-Wear) Eight-day oak longcase clock c 1820, with a flat top and turned pilaster flanking the break arch dial, trunk with canted corners and a spire topped door, tall plinth on shaped feet, painted dial with Arabic numerals, minute track and a painted scene of a sailing ship leaving port, with brass stamped hands, seconds and date dial, movement pinned via a falseplate to a rack striking movement with a recoil anchor escapement, with weights and pendulum.
