An exhibition quality 1½" scale Allchin agricultural traction engine, as built to WJ Hughes designs published in Model Engineer magazine, nicely finished example, finished in dark red with yellow and black lining, of usual specification, fitted with single horizontal cylinder, with slide valves, Stephenson's valve gear, pole reverser, Pickering ball governor, mechanical lubricators, worm and link steering, and other expected fixtures and fittings, housed in a fully glazed 360° view display case and raised on wooden plinth, with plaque to read 'Rainhill built by B Robinson', easy access to back head controls, with Allchin Ltd Engineers of Northampton No.1967 plaque to cylinder casing, numberplate to read RW 1968. Overall, one of the finest built agricultural traction engine we have seen.
